Have to disagree with you. Tom Brady made it to the AFC Championship game with Reche Caldwell and Jabar Gaffney as his starting receivers in 2006 and came within one late score, by Manning, to making it to the Super Bowl. Until Peyton is in a similar position, I don't think you can make that claim. He has ALWAYS had help, and yet has only won one Super Bowl.
 
I don't think the Colts will get close to the AFC Championship. Dungy was the heart of that team, and it's going to take a while for the new coach to get settled. also, Peyton doesn't have that steller of a supporting cast this season. despite this, the Colts are going to be good (hell they are always good) because Manning is great. I just don't think the Colts as a team are going to be great this year.

why is everyone taking the Cowboys so seriously? every year, every preseason they get nonstop hype? are you all really hyping a team up that has failed to win a playoff game for such a long time as them?
 
I think the Cowboys get so much hype because they bring it to themselves. As an analyst on ESPN said, Jerry Jones is less interested in putting together a great team as creating a Barnum and Bailey spectacle.
 
Post 5 teams that you think have zero chance at making the playoffs - in a league like the NFL this is easier said than done.

I would say Rams - but they are my favorite team and I want to stay optimistic:|
 
^should sub the rams for the skins. Has everyone already forgot how they beefed up their D? I mean haynesworth alone will help stop others run game. Not saying they'll win their division but still.
 
I think Redskins would be capable of winning any league in the NFC - but I can't see them finishing above 8-8 while competing in the East.
 
The Bengals will be one of the most improved teams this year. I've seen them in the preseason and a defense that was ranked 12th in the NFL last year has added lots of depth and talent to their team. They have been attacking the football like rabid dogs. They will have a top 10 defense this year.

Carson Palmer has looked like he's gotten over his elbow injury from last year and Chris Henry, barring he stays out of trouble, will have Pro Bowl like #'s this year.
Chad Ochocinco looks as fit and sharp as he did from 03-05 and they added RB Brian Leonard from St.Louis who has looked at times like the next Jerome Bettis.

While it's true I am a huge Bengals fan, last year and the year before I wouldn't have said they were gonna be any good, but I really like what I've seen this year. And it seems like they've all matured a ton after being in trouble all the time.

Although they might miss the playoffs (I predict 8-8 but maybe 9-7 or 10-6) because they play in the AFC North they will do much better than last years 4-12.

I can't wait for football!!!! Go Beavercreek Beavers, Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals!!!!!
 
lol @ Beavercreek Beavers. you're so Ohio, bro.

it's true, the Bengals will be leaps and bounds better. their defense was solid last year, and their O will be better if Carson Palmer can stay healthy (he has had some pre-season health issues lest you forget). losing Housh is a big blow, but at least you have some other options at WR.

EDIT: I just saw Cassle is out for up to a month with an MCL problem so Im gonna sub them in my list. I feel bad for KC fans, I mean first week the new QB is out..... A long wait just to wait some more (to see him in action).

Then you got Tom Cable of the Raiders(go figure) sending his own assitant coaches to the hospital? bahahahaha I bet Al Davis laughed when he heard about that.

I like Gruden in the booth so far.

Cannot play with them. Cannot win with them. Cannot coach with them. Can't do it.
