Yeah man, UCLA has a nice road straight to the final four (easiest region, IMO), barring any terrible un-UCLA like games. Teams that could potentially give them trouble (if they end up playing UCLA): Purdue, Xavier...although I like UCLA's chances against anyone.

I heard some quasi conspiracy theory about how the committee gave UCLA an easy road because John Wooden is on his death bed, and they wanted to see Bruins win a title this year (or get to the final four at least or whatever). Not sure I buy into that. If there is any team getting special treatment, it's those North Carolina Tarheels. Regionals in Raleigh and Elite 8 in CHARLOTTE? Home court advantage much? Give me a break....:\ I'd love to see Notre Dame, Louisville. or Tennessee take out the 'Heels, but again, I wouldn't count on it.

I have two brackets done (I try not to go too crazy with more than 2) :):

Bracket 1
: Elite 8 - UNC v. Tenn; Vanderbilt v. Georgetown; Pitt. v. Stanford, UCLA v. Duke

Final Four - UNC v. Georgetown, Pitt v. UCLA
Final - UNC v. UCLA, UCLA winner

Bracket 2
Elite 8 - UNC v. Louisville, Kansas v. Georgetown, Memphis v. Texas, UCLA v. Xavier
Final Four - UNC v. Kansas, Memphis v. UCLA
Final - Kansas v. UCLA, Kansas winner

Man, I love tourney time! Feel Free to share you picks/ brackets. =D

I'm trying really hard to stay out of this thread (and failing) whilst I contemplate making a NIT bracket with my OSU co-workers (Go UF...kinda...*sigh*).

UCLA has been near the top for the past several years. To propose, or even insinuate an easy path based on Wooden's health is not only stupid, but childish :| They earned a #1 seed, and they didn't get the play-in pansy for having the overall #1 seed. They are getting what they earned. I've no issue with that.

UGA...UGA...What am I going to do about UGA? Tbh, the wife and I really got behind them when they got screwed playing 3 games in 30 hrs - total bullshit. Big ups for winning out the conference as they did. I really hope they can make a little noise in the tournament, but I don't know about matching up with Xavier. On a side note, we're taking a long weekend in DC for Easter, so we may get tix to the Saturday matchups - I just hope UGA gets that far :\

Question to LapDawg and the other left coasters - everything we see is EST. Do they edit that for west coast viewing (doubtful) or do you just accept it as part of life growing up and get good at the math to know when it's on local time? No confusion for local TV showing their shows listed local time and sports listed EST? Just curious.

And another thought I had, watching Gonzaga's conference tournament...in the Jenny Craig Pavillion? I know sponsorship gets money, but c'mon, would anyone want to play in the Fat Chick Arena?

The loooooove bandit.

Man, I still fucking love that name and can't stop saying it when I read it.

The loooooove bandit.

Anyways, UCLA didn't 100 percent "earn" it considering they got TWO very very controversial calls in their favor for 2 games straight that could have easily been two straight losses for them.

As far as the name of the court, anything that can be sold in sports, IS sold. Just look at the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, the Nextel Cup, or Qualcomm Stadium. A few years back, they even put ads on the bases to promote Spiderman!!!

Coming soon:

The Super Pepsi Bowl

Being a UCLA fan, I'm going to tackle this as objectively as I can...

Yes, the Lawrence Hill call was bad...but did you notice that Hill traveled and arguably charged into Kevin Love on the play right before, the one that gave Stanford the lead late in the game? Those weren't called...and as Darren Collison said, he thought that last call was a "makeup call". Ultimately, that game all in all was horribly officiated...lots of missed calls...and the refs weren't the main reason Stanford blew an 11-point lead with a little over 4 minutes left in the game...

And the Josh Shipp over the corner of the backboard shot? Dude...when it's THAT close, not completely obvious it was over the backboard, and a HELLUVA shot...do you really want the refs stepping in and waving it off? I personally wouldn't want that called off for any team in that situation.

Nevermind the fact both Cal AND Stanford had shots at UCLA again in the Pac-10 Tourney...and both weren't able to win...

So yeah...to say UCLA didn't 100% earn their No.1 seed...*cough*bullshit*cough*

Admittedly, I was worried after the Cal game that they used a little too much mojo to finish out the regular season...but after a nice showing in the conference tourney and Dan Guerrero working some awesome magic on the selection committee...things are looking nice right now...GO BRUINS!

TLB - Nah...nothing is edited...in fact...I think us west coasters have the advantage during Tourney time of being able to soak in all the games without it getting way too late for the last batch in the evening...that is if you can find a way to catch the morning games.

It is pretty hilarious USD named their arena Jenny Craig Pavilion...:D

my pick to win it all? UCLA. the Bruins have a great coach, veteran leadership, an NBA-caliber point guard in Russell Westbrook and Kevin Love (probably the most dangerous low post player in the nation). something like 14 of the last 20 National Champs have been No. 1 seeds so this is a safe bet.

if UCLA is the safe pick then my sleeper is... North Carolina. hehe, funny stuff. seriously though, it's Michigan State. they've got a legit coach and have played as tough as a schedule as anybody. and in Drew Neitzel they have one of the most clutch players in the history of college basketball, as much as I despise him for reminding me of Nazi Germany.

the answer to that question is almost always a resounding 'no'

wasnt miami favored in that game? is this this some high point for their season?

fuckin duke fucks my bracket up like 3 years straight....cock suckers....Memphis is my only hope...if they play their best they are unstoppable.

my bracket is looking as good as it has ever been lately with Michigan State pulling a win against Pitt last night. I had that match circled with a red sharpie, as I thought it would be an epic battle between a tough and physical Pitt team against the tested Spartans. it was a pretty close game until late in the fourth quarter until Drew Neitzel and Kalin Lucas stole the show for Michigan State.

if the Spartans somehow win the whole shebang than you will be reading posts from a very, very handsomely rich axl blaze.
