the nfl 08-09 prediction thread

Nah always on the pittsburgh and washington game history has proven that if the steelers win the opposite party in control always wins the election
 
^ the myth is not based on pit vs. was (they haven't played in years) but on the result of washington's last home game before the election...

Yea something like that, i didnt remember exactly what it was but they talked about it in the pre game show I thought it was pretty interesting

it doesn't seem right that somebody who's picked half as many games as everybody else should be on top. we need to revisit dropping people who are not participating.

Okay well we are about to hit the 10 week period so I say if you made atleast 50% prediction picks this season you can stay in... after all this is a contest and if you are not participating GTFO!!!
 
You COULD make the relevant statistic:

(# of WINS) MINUS (# OF LOSSES) . . .

. . . INSTEAD OF winning percentage (which rewards those who play FEWER games, becomes it's easier to get an anomaly like 50-20 than it is to go 100-40).

And with MY suggested system (GAMES OVER .500), since you are NOT picking against the spread, the more you play, the higher above .500 in # of games you should be.

Just an objective opinion from someone who is NOT participating.
 
That sounds like it would work well. But the problem I have with it is it rewards those who have played the entire time. We don't want to get rid of the people who came in late and have played.
 
Nickatina is correct, the percentage ranking system is the only FAIR way for people like me who found out about this at like the 3rd week.
