Love The Hearbreakers!!! You listen to the New York Dolls version? R.I.P. Johnny Thunders!!
No, I've never heard the New York Dolls version! I'm a big Dolls fan but I didn't even know they recorded one... Was it part of a reunion or right before they broke up in '75?

The first Heartbreakers album I found was a vinyl copy of "Live at the Roundhouse" (on the '77 UK tour) that I dubbed onto cassette & wore out... Did you ever hear anything from that album? It has a great sound IMHO.

John Cale – "Fear Is A Man's Best Friend" (1974):

Standing, waiting for a man to show,
Wide-eyed, one eye fixed on the door.
This waiting's killing me, it's wearing me down.
Day in, day outmy feet are burning holes in the ground.

Darkness warmer than a bedroom floor,
Want someone to hold me close forever more.
I'm a sleeping dog but you can't tell.
When I'm on the prowl, you'd better run like hell.

You know it makes sensedon't even think about it,
Life and death are things you just do when you're bored.
Say: "Fear's a man's best friend." [×2]
You add it up, it brings you down. [×2]

Home is living like a man on the run,
Trails leading nowherewhere to, my son?
We're already dead, just not yet in the ground.
Take my helping hand, I'll show you around.

You know it makes sensedon't even think about it,
Life and death are things you just do when you're bored.
Say: "Fear's a man's best friend." [×2]
You add it up, it brings you down. [×2]

Dude! I totally got the New York Dolls, Richard Hell, Thunders and the Ramones all mixed up. Dee Dee wrote the song and Ramones played it first. By the time I saw the Ramones in Upstate NY, they had their routine, set list down to the second. But it is one of my all-time favorite shows. Played in a small dive bar, the stage was only inches up from the crowd. Great show.

My mood has been very unstable lately, kind of like an LSD or mushroom trip. Hellish tinnitus that comes and goes affects my mood drastically. When it quiets down I'm so happy, when it becomes hellishly loud again I go into a fit of rage. It's related to my sinuses, I had surgery a few months ago, tinnitus since May of last year. It went away like 95% by mid June through all of July. Sometimes it'd come back but it would go away quickly. Now it is widely inconsistent. I may have an infection, my mucus tastes like dead fish. The tinnitus didn't appear again until early this month.

I suppose this might be fitting

The Ramones – "It's A Long Way Back To Germany" w/ Dee Dee vocal (1978):

You, by the phone.
You, all alone.
It's a long way back to Germany;
It's a long way back to Germany...

*The original song is slightly different from Road To Ruin (where "...To Germany" is censored out of the title!)
It only appeared as a B-side on the UK release of this single—
—among all "national versions" (=Italy, Ireland, Holland, Japan).

One of Guns 'n Roses most underrated tracks.
Also found out recently the covers of the 'Use Your Illusions albums' are a cropped portion of the 'School of Athens' painting in the Vatican by Raphael.

Wendy O. Williams – "Ain’t None of Your Business" (WOW {solo album} | 1984):

Ain't heads-or-tails, so get a grip,
I ain't really what you think.
I ain't guilty or innocent,
Don't play the fool, don't turn your back.
You asked me 'why?'—well, listen Jack!

You'd better practice what you preach,
'Cause there ain't nothing you can teach me.
Won't wear a target on my back,
I won't stand for no third-degree.
I don't care what you think of me!

I'll do as I like, I'll do as I please,
Don't ask me why!

They go to church & they go to school,

(Ain't none of your business!)
But I ain't nobody's fool.
(Ain't none of your business!)
May go right, may go wrong,
(Ain't none of your business!)
Or I may sing a different song.
(Ain't none of your business!)
