Covid-19 The New Covid Megathread v.Oh-my-cron!

Here is some data which argues against single-drug fentanyl poisoning being a significant contributor to so-called fentanyl overdose deaths:

Vermont's drug poisoning deaths mostly involve fentanyl. In 2019, coroners found that 86% of drug poisoning deaths "involved" fentanyl (link, remove spaces: https://www.healthvermont.gov/ sites/ default/ files/ documents/ pdf/ DAP_Data_Brief_Opioid_Related_Fatalities.pdf). That same year, Vermont reported that only 17% of drug poisoning deaths "involved" a single substance. If we look at Scottish data for 2019, we see that in their case, out of those who were considered to have died via drug poisoning "involving" a single substance, 60% of them had two or more drugs in their system. If we assume that the same ratio holds in Vermont, only 7% of drug poisoning deaths would have occurred after consumption of a single substance.

Interesting.

I've had friends who were heroin users for decades, but then died after being given fentanyl and thinking it was heroin (so they took their regular dose).

Although without doing the toxicology myself, I can't say with 100% certainty that, that's what killed them.

But I do have a big feeling that if they had received regular heroin like they were expecting, they'd still be alive.

I use to snort my heroin & was once given fentanyl.

I knew something was different about it because it wasn't brown/tan/grey/white rocks, but just white powder.
There was also no 'vinegar' type smell to it and the taste was nothing like heroin.
I only took a bump about the size of a match head and just that alone had me nodding out within minutes.
And I mean nodding hard. Hard enough that I had to go get my naloxone out just in case.
There was almost no euphoria, barely any histamine release and it was over within 15 minutes.

A week later, my buddy asked me "hey, so how did you like that fentanyl."

I told him never to give me that shit again or i'd kick his ass. lol
And he never did after that.

If that was indeed fentanyl and it took me just that little bit to go into such hardcore nods, I could maybe see how it would kill people, especially so if they also were on benzos/alcohol/etc...

With that said, I had a friend who was an alcoholic and a benzo addict and she did heroin right along side with me and some how she never overdosed either.

So while I'm definitely not saying overdoses aren't possible, I think they're more unlikely than people know, especially with single substance (opioid) use.

I am a gay old man. Just imagine your worst picture, that's me.

Because I began life when Gay was forbidden, even in text I come across as a straight male. I was born in a Mennonite community so I learned to hide like the holocaust from birth.

I have had to publically explain to a woman once why I was not interested because she would not believe I was a golden gay. She was so aggressive if we had been opposite sexes, she would have gone to jail. If I had a good cultured gay lisp or had been given heels at an early age I wouldn't have to face this identity trauma...

Lol
Are you Eastern European Mennonite? I know bisexual Central European Mennonites and they are out but the ones who are gay and the old order type are very closeted or just out to certain select people.

If you're over 40 here in canada people stayed in the closet in high school.
It was not like this in the USA but I am over 40, and I knew other out LGB Gen X'ers but there was no social media, and even if you were in a large city like I was it was not easy to meet people.

I know bisexual and gay boomers/generation Jones age range bisexual men and women who were out in high school in the 1960s and 1970s.
i got vaccinated by force. Mandates are the dumbest bs ever

No should be forced to do anything.

the matrix has totally collapsed no one buys this bs anymore lol. If you still can't see the 5d reality before your eyes that is fucking wrong then ima claim that these people do not have a soul at all. This makes them very dangerous to the existence of the world. We can not let the soul less masses diacte what we put in your body.

This aint about the plandemic or even vaccines themselves. Its all about control.

If you don't value freedom then must be something in society.
Who vaccinated you by force?

Canada, Australia, New Zealand. All were on my emigration potentials list. Thank fuck I wasted a few years of my life smoking herb and not getting my shit together!
I did not waste my life smoking herb and tripping, but I did consider emigrating to the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Austria, or France.

Celebrities shouldn't be given different rules than non-celebrities. It sends a number of bad messages.

I completely agree with the Australian government and so do the vast majority of Australians.

That's called Stockholm Syndrome. Instead of being upset about how ludicrous the rules are, you're upset that someone might be bucking them.

One of the largest hospital systems in the United States has stopped being racist to Covid patients, due to legal threats

These decisions are made by hospital administrators, we hope that the front-line staff is cut from a better cloth

Been pretty much fine for a couple of days except for these fucking COVID headaches. They only last a couple of minutes. They come out of nowhere. Super painful. Mostly in my forehead, at the front of my brain... I've been taking two days a week off weed for a couple of (nearly three) months. Abstaining during COVID has proved to be the most difficult. Weed fixes those fucking headaches. I'm so bored and I just woke up. Time to play Wolfenstein New Order I guess? EDIT: no - mother fucker - I locked down my console last night for some reason. I'm going back to sleep.

@Electrum1

I doubt the hospital was being racist in the first place.

Most accusations of racism (and most sexual assault claims) are bullshit.

I don't care how ludicrous the rules are as far as this situation goes. I am upset by the rules (I've constantly made posts complaining about the rules for over a year now) but that has no bearing whatsoever on whether I think celebrities should be above the law. If the rules exist, rich people shouldn't be exempt. That's not fair. If Australians have to follow the rules, why the fuck doesn't Johnny Depp or some tennis playing asshole?

Idk man, sounds racist to me:

"The rubric gives three points to patients with diabetes, one for obesity, one for asthma, and one for hypertension, for a total of six points. Identifying as "Non-White or Hispanic" race, on the other hand, nets a patient seven points, regardless of age or underlying conditions."

"A 49-year-old white woman with hypertension, obesity, diabetes, and asthma would only get 19 points under the rubric, just shy of the 20 point threshold for antibody therapy. But a 50-year-old black woman with no underlying health conditions would receive 22 points, making her eligible."

Oh racist in favour of non-whites?
Yeah I'd believe that.

Nobody in any industry is crazy enough to implement racist policies against black people.
