It raining again in the city
A constant steady pour, just enough to wash away the dirt, grime, grease and remains of broken dreams
You can see little fragments of them playing on the oil slick rainbows
A tragic matinee
She step out of the motel, just as she done few times earlier tonight
She looked back and another piece of her died with fading taillights
She walked through the lonely city no jacket, no umbrella being drenched but not feeling clean
A brief break in the clouds, a bright star she wanted to be one once
That dream now faded like her hair. Once a bright red now a faded orange.
She stepped of the curb towards a car, on last trip before calling it a night
The neon signs are crying*

* the last line which i also used for the title aren't my words. it's a line from an anime as soon as i get the name of the show it's from i'll edit the post with it. I just heard that line and this kinda popped in my head.the anime was Idol Youkoso Youko as translated by Axia

You have amazing words. I don't always add replies to your poems but I always admire them.
I could see this scene so vibrantly....I could feel this girl.
Wonderful.

this was awesome. i like poems that take the form of a short story, with a moral. and i think i caught this one. it was sad, but important. and as a side note, it made me envision new york, which brought up a whole slew of different unrelated emotions.

you do have a great ability for painting a picture with your words....wonderful writing :)

Thank you. I really liked this one myself because it's the first time that i can remmber that i saw everything, the girl, her life, and i actually feel kinda guilty, creating in such a sad situion.
I never been to new york I've seen a lot of pictures seems like an intresting place. the street i saw is actually in oakland, but I kinda saw this in L.A myself. :)
