"i think there should be a special dealers prize for the most creative pill name"
has anyone else noticed these odd names, that don't fit their description...?

Well I suppose it's just what's easy on the ear.
'Genie' sounds better than 'Lamp'.
'UFO' sounds better than 'White Dome'.
When I first got a Hammer, it didn't have a 'name' yet. So I bought some and called them 'MC Hammers' - for some reason it didn't catch on.....

hehe..
i think most of time somwhere along the line a big dealer guy takes a break from his looking angry/being intimidating/letterbomb making shedule and just lets loose with his sensetive artistic side - which is where we get such names as "blueberry" for unmarked white pills.

Remember the omega that came out early last year? Well, this year the white omega was out about a month ago and the guy that I got it from called it white pioneer, saying that it looked like the pioneer logo. So there you GO!!!

yeah jerox, I had this discussion with a few nong-heads *ahem*
I reckon they were omega's as well, but they INSISTED they were the old pioneer symbol. So, of course, everyone called them pioneers and I reckon they are all bastard liers and should have thier knee caps removed!!

Another couple for perth people are biege bullets referred to as "rounds" (this was a couple of weeks ago) and the crumbly yellow domes from around july/august last year being called a whole heap of different names, like asian suns, yellow suns and ghosts.
I completely agree with Don and Entropope that if the names sound better some people will buy it, it's all marketing! Would you buy a drink called "sweet brown bubbly water" or would you buy coke? I guess DD's might be trying to sucka people into buying stuff just cos of the name or shape.
On another note, I'd like to see what happens if perth or australia in general got some of the different shape pills like we see on dancesafe. I'd like to get one just to show to the grandkids

We 'saw' some pink triangles and some other person we knew was trying to tell us they were Purple Burmuda Triangles.... sounds like his dealer wsa trying to make them sound exotic.

(they only had a picture of a triangle on them)

how bout the bullets, their just thick beige domes!
or ?marks being called jokers or riddlers (someone doesn't know their batman characters!). But I think the most creative names are for non-stamped pills. Anyone remember phantoms (purple domes with no stamps)?
Like you said it's all marketing. I find it tends to be done more for crap pills with people trying to get rid of them so they use any name they can think of to make you think they're not the pieces of crap you suspect they are hehehe

Heh heh... blanks...
*starts to scrape the logo off some sudafed*
I've got lots of blanks... anyone want some!

Can't say I didn't warn you though!
