The Music Social Gig v. I'll Trade You My Shirt For A Grilled Cheese

i wanna bitch about the new iTunes, can i do that here? and my mac just auto corrected itunes to iTunes, god damnit apple right now i wanna strangle you! i was all excited about it until i realized that i listen to so many mixtapes, fanmixes, bootlegs, etc, that this would be awful. i was right, it's awful. i can't believe how awful! it's slow, it's "album art" database is totally shitty (look at what it gave me for the control soundtrack)

it can't recognize a soundtrack but somehow knows all the early acid bath demos, GARGH, the sidebar is gone, the new way of making playlists blows and doesn't make sense to me, i could go on. PB says to shut up and just deal with it, he's had to clean up his iTunes a million times, but i haven't and i'm fucking offended by the notion that i just have to do it? and that it happens? am i being petulant? i don't give a shit.

^ iTunes has always been shit. There are plenty of alternatives out there (Clementine, SongBird, Media Monkey, etc) that are faster, more intuitive and not associated with Apple in any way (the best part).

I gotta say, I like your style. Abstract, colorful, lively...honestly, I'd rather buy a large glow-in-the-dark poster with one of your designs on them for me to stare at while tripping face. A little square on the front of a T-Shirt doesn't your art justice, imo.

i think we're in too deep for me to try and drop out now. i like being able to play my music through out the house on all the other apple devices and all the roomies have them too, so we all use itunes to share our libraries. but damn does it suck balls.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. And the shirt idea is only for publicity. I'm not aiming to take over the fashion industry with my designs or anything. My main goals are Tour posters, album artwork, and book covers.

Also lastnight's of Montreal show was the SHIT!
I got BP's setlist. Had a long conversation with David Barnes, who remembered me from a previous time we spoke about art. He drew on the 1 of 500 cyan blue vinyls of their latest compilation album they put out. I also finally got to meet up with Kevin Barnes and I feel as though my life is complete. I gave him a drawing and a care package full of purple ganj complete with a pack of papers because I'm that fucking considerate. He then gave me the most firm and sincere hug that will resonate in my soul for life.
The worst part of the concert, like all the other of Montreal concerts I've been to, is that it ends.

Unforgettable night for this groupie fanboy.

I'm going to hang out in here this month.

I'm a little sad to say I haven't bought anything from a record store in far too long. The other day I was browsing at a local one and I saw a David Bowie 1" button. I told my daughter about it and we made a trip back there with $1 from her piggy bank to get the button. We left with 2 buttons (the other is of a funny cat), Bowie "Changes", Built to Spill "You In Reverse", and Sugar Cubes live DVD. It was fun!

A Bowie fan & a fan of Built to Spill's You in Reverse in particular!. Sounds like we could be besties in no time.
Why will we only be having you for a month?

OK so I'm needing to go see some live music and get out of my head. Whoo, thanks for the info Laika. of Montreal is on tour, in a nearby city in 1 week. I don't know their music but I've been known to crunch study 1 week before a show. I need something and it's in front of me, let me think on it more tomorrow.

Edited to critique:

"needing to...get out of my head" and "...let me think more on it tomorrow"

This should be a no-brainer.

Can you let me know what tracks/album they played off of?

It's definitely worth it to go check them out if they're going to be close to you. They will entertain whether you're familiar with the music or not.
