As much as BHM is a stain on BL he has a point about the 26 week rule. I used to be very liberal on the point but now I'm expecting a child there is no doubt in.my mind that at 26 weeks the child is most definitely that. The idea of it being a 'thing' is long gone at this stage, just look at the pictures, not necessarily the aborted bodies but in utero pics. That's a child, evrything's formed physically and it definitely responds to outside stimuli. It would definitely feel being torn apart by the doctor. I'm all for women's rights but we need far more investment in the care of unwanted or unmanageable babies too.

very few abortions take place at that late stage anyway. Its worth remembering that the law is as much there to protect drs as the mother's choices
the recent death in ireland is a good example of what happens when drs have to consider the law rather than the mother's health.
i think any heat directed towards the monkey person is a result of his attitude rather than the opinions expressed, if people wanna talk about politics, ethics or religion they need to be calm and polite about it. Esp when its such a touchy subject.

but sod, i shall be judgemental myself and point out that IMO that, ironically, the most vocal opponants of abortion are often walking examples of its merits

Without being judgemental and ranty, in the UK, at least, surgeons performing late-term abortion have the option of performing euthanasia (fœticide). In that case there is, of course, no possibility of the fœtus experiencing... anything. I don't know if it's standard practice, I can't find any information, but I imagine if the surgeon thought the fœtus was sentient they'd do it.

A heavily pregnant woman lying dead in the road, with her dead young son and husband beside her. She'd been run over by a Toyota Camry, whixh had then attempted to do a U-turn escape in traffic and had killed two more people whose bodies were on the oppisite kerb.

When I drove past he had been apprehended by a mob and was in the process of being beaten to within an inch of his life. I remember wishing they would finish the job.

I see dead bodies on the road here almost every week - but that incident, in particular, stuck with me.
