Fuck the modfags for a minute. They have stuffed up the thread with boring waffle.

How about the non modfags who put their even more thankless time in giving advice and knowledge in serious forums.

Where is their thanks ? Thanks fellow non modfags. You get no real reward back really from the staff. Its more about cleaning up the rubbish and LOVELIFE too. Well, kinda the same thing hee hee.

The non-modfags are awesome, I really hope no bluelight member feels unappreciated. The members titled Bluelighter are the core awesomeness of Bluelight.

There is a huge advantage to being a bluelighter or bluelight crew that I did not realize as a a member. Non-staff members only ever have to read threads that interest them or interact with members of their choosing I'm not saying reading threads I wouldn't choose to otherwise is a horrible burden, but membership that isn't involved in moderation has some advantages. Members are greatly appreciated by staff. For example Zephyr I know you to be very esteemed and I'm sure you have seen evidence of this over time.:D
 
I feel like the organ grinding monkey of Bluelight. Finder and Ali are my drunken owners, and sometimes they beat me with a cord.

Good point Zeph. Honestly, when I was a forum mod and I read every post in the forum, I knew who the good posters were; and I really appreciated them. I may not have always said it, but I did try to give 'em credit where I could, and I'd sometimes PM people to thank them.

But that doesn't happen enough, so thanks once again to the people who give awesome advice or ask thought-provoking questions or bring the lulz :)

me thinks the plebs need an elected seat on a council of blueness. a watchgroup and advirsory concil on matters of relevance, and a group that exists outside the current structure to work with BL staff as a intermediary between staff and users to make awesome stuff.

Before anyone hates on us too much; it's the forum mods who decide who the new mod should be, as they'll have to work with them. Admins will veto a decision if we really feel that the proposed new mod is unsuitable, but that's very very rare.

I don't read SO too much, but I know the standard of applicants was really high this time. I'm not just saying that; sometimes we're lucky to get one really good applicant, this time we had several.

Anyone want to count how much of this has been completely disregarded by some of the replies in this thread? I'll note that any edits have been done by the person making the original posts. No effort has been made to silence anyone or change what they said - there's obviously some concerns here, however they were worded, and they've been left untouched by staff.

Nice way to escape a response. Shit in someone's house then run off to avoid a counter argument AND keep yourself from becoming a target. So, now we're left with an option - write it off as a LOUNGE game when you so clearly are giving the e-finger to the staff, or invest our time into forming some sort of response. A response that gets laughed at because 'ooooh, serious biznez' and we are taking the comments too seriously, or we're pointed at as out of touch, uncaring, and generally without a counter-argument (insinuating you're right and we're wrong) if we don't respond. You've set up a nice lose-lose for us. And while the thread spun out to other harmless bullshit, I do care, and I don't have a problem setting the record straight. So here I am. Besides, I'm known for taking things too seriously, so you know joking or not, you'll get an honest and real answer from me. <3

Okay.....some have tried to respond, and were ganged up on by some of the members :\ Whatever. I'll answer as best I can for myself, as I'm only one of a large set of Sr. Staff. But I'd like to see any instance where we've written people off as wrong based on our title. We try to listen, to mods and members, and we make it a point not to act on our own - to get a group consensus on things before taking action. We do this to ensure none of us acts based on our own ego, and that decisions we make are in the best interest of the site, not based on personal reasons. Are we human? Yeah, but we still do the best we can.

Btw, a lot of this might be in response to GM's words, but I'm putting it here to answer a LOT of other people's questions. Besides, he left, correct? :|

Because it's the LOUNGE and shouldn't be taken seriously? To quote a wise man "Who say's I'm joking?". So answer me. Why do you fuck chickens? Are you going to claim you don't fuck chickens? Is the response from the modfags retaliation? Or simply a return of tit-for-tat on GM's first move? Or has there been some honest effort to refute the accusations, but those words don't count because anyone with a staff title is simply sticking up for eachother despite what's right or wrong? Look harder, grasshopper, you'll see there are answers. Just not ones people are willing to believe, especially when we're trying not to spill GM's personal situation out for public perusal....but he's decided to open this door. Let's see what else is in that room, shall we?
