Has there ever been a time in your life
Where everything you touch just seems to fade away?
When everything you do always turns out wrong?
And hearing the only words to part from your lips
Be those of endless nothings?
I wait in time
Cry a silent prayer
Will i ever escape these dark shadows of lies, hurt and betrayl?
I want to find the answers
When can my smile be found again?
And let out for all to see?
When will my laughter no longer be trapped?
And my soul born to live once more?
Why must my life be one of constsant pain?
Im always having to creep outside of my mind
Into a world where the lows in life are nowhere to be seen
And where the highs are finally allowed to roam free
I feel at most happy in this world
So open to ideas yet so focused in my own state of trance
Why cant it always be like this?
Why must i always come crashing down
Into a reality where my smiles no longer exist?
Or is it that they just cannot breathe in this harsh new land?
If so then where is it my smiles go?
Could it be they are trapped inside these wonderous little pills?
Lost in there powers?
Caught up in their magic?
Last week i was confronted by a friend
He told of how hed been missing my smiles these past few months
That made me smile
To know that they were appriciated
That people cared
I felt needed
Special
I hadnt felt like that for so long
I wasnt sure what to say
So i just sat and smiled
Since that day my smiles are beginning to shine through my shadows
Stepping out of the blackness
And rising up into the world
I had finally found the missing key
It opens up my soul
Lets out my smiles
And frees my laughter
For so long i had been surrounded by darkness
I couldnt see
Deep with fear
But now i am no longer lost
My eyes stuggling as they opened to this new life
I stared in disbelief
Blinking from the moment
Light seeping throughout my veins
Being blinded for so long
I had forgotton all that was out there for me to enjoy
But now i know i have found the missing answers
As i grasp firmly in my hand the most precious gift in the world
The key to life
It unlocks happiness
Sets free hope
And unleashes love
I call this key
The key of friendship
As i chain it to my soul
So close
And so tightly
Never to be lost again...
