The Mind Fold (sensory deprivation)

There are THREE Giza pyramids (not counting the "satellites") and none of them has a 45 degree angle (a feature often seen on "new agey" piramiderivations).
I always get the impression that "pyramid apparatuses" were designed by people who never even bothered to actually LOOK at pyramids or pictures thereof.

You mean a Shakti helmet? Try googling it to find the details

BTW, total sensory seprivation in a floatation tank is essentially what a ketamine 'k-hole' is, only without the pharmacological intervention
Spiritual experiences arising from transcranial magnetic stimulation to the temporal lobes were not reported in a replication of Persinger's "God Helmet" studies. While TMS can definitey result in strange sensations, it's likely that the spiritual experiences evoked under stimulation were the result of experimenter suggestion and participant expectation superimposed over the the strange, but probably just random, sensations evoked through TMS i.e. it's most likely bullshit. Just in case anyone was thinking of investing the time and cash to build their own.

I agree about the "essential" equivalence of sensory deprivation and k-hole experiences. However, there's a similar (unresolved) discussion going on in the k thread about the differences between s-ket and the racemic mixture. If there is a substantial qualitative difference between these, then one or both must have some "psychedelic" properties independent of those arising from just sensory deprivation, as both are capable of cutting off signals from the body to the brain. I've never used s-ket but would like to hear more.

^nice 3+ year bump!

My first one actually broke so I bought a second one. I don't use it that often but I want to try it with MXE, and will definitely be rocking it at Shambhala this year =D
