...I am talked to by 'gods' who tell me that everything in this life is an illusion and that I already know because I have been there before (I interpreted this as re-incarnation). These 'gods' then encourage me to come and join them 'up there where I belong'...

It's so amazing and fascinating that this "message" seems to reappear in trips and mystical experiences had by people on a wide variety of triggers, from a wide variety of backgrounds, from the entire panoply of cultures, going back thousands of years. Nowadays it is especially associated with psychedelic drugs, but it goes back even to Gnosticism 2000 years ago and probably even much farther than that.

It's almost like it's some secret "Easter Egg" (i.e., secret content on DVDs if you click just the right sequence) that has been hard-coded in our DNA for it to arise to easily and commonly across such a wide timespan and wide array of triggers and cultures. I really cannot conceive of an other possible explanation for the commonality of this "message" consistent with all those variables.

Question is, who put it in there and why? Perhaps it is TRUE and we who are still here are either just the bigger cowards, OR we just have more learning we need to do, which is the purpose for this imaginary realm (and the "trap-door exit" encoded into our DNA)?

If it's just some random drugged out halluxcination... WHY IS IT SO COMMON, SO CONSISTENT, AND APPEARING FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS???

^True but that isn't a very good explanation to the question. Why do the drugs keep telling so many different people in such different circumstances on different drugs almost this exact same thing?

I think because maybe it's truth. But that's no reason to kill one's self to escape, because you will just be back. A system this persistent must have a pretty profound reason for existing, put in place by something far far more advanced than we are possibly able to comprehend with our tiny little monkey brains, haha!

Because the drugs all activate certain brain receptors.

What exactly is The Message?

Uhh.... slow down Kemosabe... read the first post properly which you seem to have forgotten to do:

everything in this life is an illusion and that I already know because I have been there before (I interpreted this as re-incarnation). These 'gods' then encourage me to come and join them 'up there where I belong'.

ALL drugs activate the SAME receptors? NO NO NO.

Even if they did, this would not cause the same exact experience, UNLESS it was hard coded into our DNA... the question is how did it get there.

Seems like you are just trying to ignore/avoid what is really a very deep question by sweeping it under the carpet with a shallow flippant nonsense answer, I guess because the implications make you uncomfortable. How sadly typical.

Basic scientific law, "energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only change forms." We are just little bundles of energy. I don't know where I'm going with this. I have been thrown into the void, spoken with the Godhead. Realized there is no such thing as time, just one moment. Time is an illusion, damned to repeat itself. I may just be losing it...

Are psychedelics actually enlightning? Or are they just good in making you think they are? Who's to say?

btw, eye_wide_open, please do go on, i'm intrested?

I just got my motorcycle and drivers license combined

Oh thank God! I thought you went off the deep end...

Come one man! This is a psychedelic forum!!!!!!!!!! If you cant talk about it here, where the hell are you going to?!?!

The pyramids were built to appease "them", the Government is trying to keep "them" a secret by making mind expanding drugs illegal, and they give people SSRIs/benzos/opiates/booze to dumb us down. This aint no secret! Please, go on with your crazy theories, because if your loony, then we all are ;)

I also have no idea what the hell I'm talking about.

lol.

In a sense i would agree, but only as a means of accepting that we know nothing. Because once this is accepted, we stop looking for what can't be known and realize we're experiencing it each and every moment. The illusion talked about in the quote is the concept of separation, as long as the mind believes it is separate from anything there will always be a longing for union, a self-perpetuating cycle of seeking meaning. Would you believe someone if they said 'there is no meaning to existence', probably not, but then you have to ask yourself.. if there was a meaning wouldn't it continue to give rise to more questions infinitely.. no answer would ever be satisfactory because the answer implies a separation of self. "There's the answer and then theirs me", nope it's just you.. no answer, nothing.. this ends the pursuit of meaning effectively freeing you from yourself and into the moment at hand to define in whatever way you choose.

There's an enormous amount of correlation between these experiences and the words of mystics and religions over the years; but we're usually unable to see it. Most of the bible is written in metaphor and is unfortunately taken as literal interpretation, Buddhism is clearer in it's explanations as it makes no attempt to create the idea of separation through the words, Zen is particularly fluid which is perhaps why psychedelic users are able to resonate with Buddhism so easily. In my opinion the most important aspect of these experience's is the ability to integrate them and realize them as a fundamental part of humanity.

So yeah, enjoy life! :D

I must say I don't see the profundity of this 'message'. Sure its kinda interesting but I don't feel that its especially unique to psychedelics. Its a relatively obvious philosophical statement (bar the 'god/s' part)- the entire Matrix trilogy is about that idea. It doesn't surprise me that people are getting this idea; it would surprise me if people didn't get it.

The only thing that does amaze me is how common it is for people using psychedelics to turn the most humble and basic ideas into some kind of spiritual revelation gifted to them by god. I mean, really? The only thing that amazes me more then that is that people will so totally and easily give god credit for their own thinking.

Are psychedelics actually enlightning?

I think so, but I don't feel it has much to do with 90% of the semi-nonsense that people think it does, and that includes this thread. Psychedelics are more fun and interesting then true producers of wisdom, whatever that is...

We seem to be heading for some sort of event..
I wasn't allowed answers as to what that is.
I was not allowed to physically see what the alien spirits looked like when I asked, either.
They come to me as a great feeling energy that is better than any feeling you can imagine.
They teach me and use me as a communication tool.
It seems like I have felt them inside of me before. lol. I don't get that part.
I've been out of body too. watching them redose me.
When they had more for me to learn.

I have heard many things like this before. I believe "they" are pure energy, thats why you cant see them. They talk through this energy, thats why we cant hear them in our normal minds. People experience these kinds of things without drugs, through intense meditation too, anything to channel your "chakra" to go back to ancient terms. Its just a lot easier with drugs lol

These energies have something to teach us. Like the prophets of old, we are their messengers. All religions can fit into these ideas, maybe religion is just a way to try and understand "them"? Personally, I believe in a omnipotent power who overseas this life, Im not Christian though, because I believe all religion is a way for the evil forces to keep up away from the truth

If we have the right intentions, does it really matter what we believe? If we KNEW the truth, obviously we would believe it. But its impossible to know for sure, so we have to guess and go off what we know...

If you really study the religions, they're all about the same shit, just different gods. Lets not take this to a religious debate though lol

^ bro, your pretty much explaining the entire beliefs around the Illuminati, keep going please!!
