The Mega Merged Tool Appreciation/Discussion Thread

I got this job called "merchandising" What we do is go to different stores and each week replace the magazines, periodicals and paperback books. But last week, my manager made me sign a form telling me I'm going over budget. I mean they are allowing me 9 hours a week! Who can live on this shit? Think of me when you're at the supermarket and see all the magazines at the checkout. Yep, that's me. Shite job! Still looking for something better and I mean soon...thanks, theresa

what does going over budget mean? and damn o.O that sucks :/ i'd be happy with that job just because i don't have one, but i'd rather have other jobs so i feel ya there. Wait, only 9 hours a week? wtf, that's bs, that's pretty much nothing at all o.O is it under the table?

No, It's not even under the table. So will possibly ruin my food stamp benefits and I wish I could just quit. But won't do that until I find something else. Over budget means you're alloted a certain amount of time to complete the job and apparently I'm too slow. I may take 14 hours a week and they only "allow" me 9. So do me a favor and fire me already!

hehehehehe...
"tool" = posts 6-8...

anyway...

I love tool, and even though I love all their stuff, I'm weird in the fact that I love Lateralus more than any other album - I catch shit from it from all the tool fans that I run into, but all I do is think of hooker with a penis and ticks and leeches... I analogize tool's rise this way ->opiate: garage/club band trying to catch a break in helLA, Undertow ->at the bottom of a pit looking at the small shred of light coming down, turning the walls of the pit into a reality; Aenima ->clawing upwards and raging at the forces that entombed them; Lateralus -> reached the top, out in the sunlight, and understanding that the climb was necessary for an enlightened perspective of the world but still clinging to the resentment at those who forced one into the tomb; 10,000 days ->commentary on what the world is after the journey out of the hole.

I met Maynard while working on his vineyard in Jerome, AZ... I was warned not to speak with him by my foreman, and the bitch who was running the entire project was walking with him as he was inspecting the work one day back in 2k3...
He came along, and I told him that the line "mention this to me and watch the weather change" reminded me of monsoon season, and that I had some idea of what he was talking about in a sense of hermetic philosophy. He said that it reminded him of monsoon season too, then kept walking.

I got fired for it the next day but I didn't care, the job sucked ass, and it was worth it.

I love Tool ... like all my favorite bands, they're the sort that when a new album comes out, it slightly ruins all previous albums for me, cos it's so much better (though I still love Lateralus/Salival).

My favorite Tool memory is from my 16th birthday ... had a bunch of friends together for bowling/lazer tag.
I was wearing a System of a Down shirt at the time, but my best buddy was wearing a Tool shirt.
Some ugly Boston girl was running the counter (this was in SoCal), and asked my friend about his shirt, then explained that on the East Coast 'Tool' meant idiot, she'd never heard of the band :p

As to the OP's question ... the link isn't loading for me, so I can't help ya there.

Hey Clusterone, I didn't notice your moniker is similiar to mine- which is my maiden name: Calderone. This is totally unrelated to Tool. Anyway, I quit that stupid job and got hired at the homeless shelter which is not govt. funded that is completely run on donations. I started last week and it's a full time job. It just so happened that the man who runs the place needed an administrative assistant. I'm so glad I finally will be bringing some money home. Plus there's a social worker who can help get my son's food stamps back (they were canceled) all $107 dollars worth a month. Every little bit helps. xo ~theresa

Honestly, it was well worth it to get fired for it :) I would have done the same thing too. XP

Tool Tribute Band

So I'm going to see "Lateralus" saturday night in Joliet. They are a Tool Tribute band. I was just wondering if anyone has ever seen them. I've watched a couple videos of them but the quality isn't that good and they still sound decent. As far as I know they originated here in the Chicago area. Anyway, I know it won't be anywhere near the real thing(it's been my dream for years to see Tool live) but should be fun. It's just me and my dad going. The other band is called Now I'm Nothing. They are a Nine Inch Nails Tribute band. Originally the other band was to be a Deftones cover band but they changed it.

I've never tried to listen to covers of Tool songs and especially not a tribute band, don't get me wrong I've loved some different tribute bands in the past for other bands, but...
I just think a Tool tribute band live would never even come close to the intensity of just listening to Aenima on a shitty cassette player imo lol

I'm not saying it wouldn't be the next best thing I guess if you have never had the chance to see Tool live and wanna hear some of there music live anyway
So just go and have fun with your pops, that's cool he's into the same music as you, and patiently wait for Tool to tour so you can really get your face melted off

I don't see this thread going much past this point if we keep the topic on Tool though
Maybe we can shift shape this into a Favorite Tribute Band Thread or something

Opinions are welcomed

You mean "pertaining"? lol. Yeah idk but anyways the concert was awesome. Finally getting my voice back. They rocked it. It was really fuckin loud in there.

Maybe just generally about Tool especially if anyone has seen them live. But that might already exist sorry.

Please use the edit button as opposed to making a double post.
And yeah, he totally meant pertaining.
That is all :)

No need to apologize brother :)
IMO it's better learn it here because I'm a lenient moderator.
