Ok I've never been addicted to opiates, but what you are describing here is what most refer to the "honeymoon phase", eventually they will stop getting you high, or you will need so much that you will be broke on your ass (sometimes just to maintain not getting wd's). Most opiate users who have been burned this way probably realize that the high has a terrible price for them.

Being that you have never been addicted to an opiate I can see you have no idea how beneficial bupe can be to the ex-dope addict. Other than that you're just recycling words you've seen written in the OD forum.
 
Well it's been around 50 days since I have been on bupe I have tapered down to 4mg and plan on quitting in two weeks. I have been at that dose for the last week or so. I must say I have been a little edgy lately. I hate to say it but I miss my oxy. I have been having a hard time does anyone have a suggestions I just want to feel good again. Bump
 
Drug test won't show levels/amount of usage? It must be different than whatever test I'm taking then...maybe bupe doesn't show up??? blah, please explain.
 
I seriously doubt they will go the extra expense to determine 'accurate' amounts of bupe present and relate that to a dose taken [to many variables come in to play], sure its possible but probable, naw. They already have to do a specific test for buprenorphine and its metabolites it will show up as an opiate but further testing is usually required to determine what opiate. Thats basically why I said that.

Maybee you should stay on bupe a bit longer and stabilize a bit more if your feeling like that already chances are high for a relapse. Up your dosage.
 
wel, BUP or SUBOXONE doesnt kill the cravings in EVERYONE, as out of the 5 people i know personallthat are currenly taking it, 3 of them are skipping doses and slamming home some nice dope...works great for some, not for others...thats the problem with drugs, it takes too much experimentation to find out what to go with...
 
Just an FYI, I merged all the relevant bupe/subutex/suboxone threads that have come up recently so they are now consolidated in one thread that will be easier to reference.

the clinic I go to to get my bupe drug tests me every week when I go in.....It's a GC/MS test, which is able to compute minute levels of a drug in your urine.....I know for positive they test for morphine metabolites as well as oxycodone.....

for a while I was worried that they'd be able to tell if I was taking less than my prescibed dosage, but have since concluded that they don't even test for bupe....the purpose of the test is to just see if you fell off the wagon.....so I think it's highly unlikely....

Suboxone works for me like a charm. It helps both my depression & my heroin addiction [been clean for a bit, thanks to sub.]

I get them from a guy whos hooked up with a doc, he gets way more than he needs, so he supplies me free of cost. What a good friend :)

He says If I would like to get my own script I can just get hooked up with his doc, he says hes really nice and personal with you, he becomes a friend to you. I may check into that, but I enjoy never having my name associated with the stigma our society puts on us... I've never checked into a clinic, been to the ER for OD/drug related illness/injury, or gone through clinical rehab.

I'd like to keep it that way ;)

Really, drug tests every week? I have been in twice to see my dr. so far and although he mentioned that they might test me in the future, I have yet to undergo any piss tests, which is good. Also, he said if they do test me and I test positive for narcotic opiates they wouldn't necessarily kick me out of the program - he said that it would just mean 'that I wasn't ready' and would need more time.

I don't really see myself falling off the wagon just yet and thus don't foresee myself failing any piss tests. I don't even have to go in every week - I just saw my dr. the other night and am not due to go back for another couple of weeks.

I can't wait to get paid tomorrow. For the first time in a long time I will be not be spending $500 to keep myself real high during the first weekend after payroll. Daddy is going shopping!!! I am going to treat myself to some nice things this weekend, other than 10 hulks. Plus, I've got some debts to settle with friends that have had no idea of my habit, that unknowingly have lent me money in order for me to get high. I haven't been a good friend over the last year and plan to make up for my poor behavior real soon.
 
Hey, question for you fewls that I haven't seen answered thus far. Does suboxone come in any other form than these tablets? I thought I saw someone mention that it comes in 2mg doses - are these taken under the tongue as well or is there another way to ingest them?

The reason I ask is that I am getting pretty sick of the taste of these things. Would shoving them up my ass give a similar effect?
 
Buprenorphine comes in a few forms: Suboxone, Subutex (opiate maintenence), Temegesic (pain med), Buprenex (injectable), and possible one other formulation.

Yes Suboxone comes in 2mg and 8mg tabs same for Subutex. I have grown to love the taste [same vein as how I love the taste of methadone, etc.]. Subligual has an ok absorbsion rate and nasal dosages seem to have a higher bio-availability [its only useful when dosing is 1-2mg and under IMO] and rectally seems to have a even higher absorbsion rate than the above 2 methods.

Just powderize add water suck up into a rectal syringe and squirt away, works well.

Heard that one in Boston years a ago as that's what my dealer and I would call them on the phone.
