Police warn of dodgy batch of illegal drugs
ACT police are worried drug dealers in Canberra may be passing off the horse tranquilliser Ketamine as speed or MDMA.
Two men were taken to hospital in a critical condition after being found unconscious outside a student accommodation block at the University of Canberra.
The two men in their 20s are believed to have taken what they thought was speed on Wednesday night.
Tests revealed the men had taken a derivative of Ketamine, a horse tranquilliser.
Detective Sergeant John Giles says the drug could be fatal to anyone taking it.
"Clearly I think it's been demonstrated that it's a bad batch, and it's a very, very dangerous substance," he said.
"Our understanding at this stage is that it was sourced from a well-known Canberra night club, but inquiries are continuing."
Police fear young people are buying these substances without knowing what they are, or what they could do to their bodies.
"We have some ongoing investigations about the source of the substance," Detective Sergeant Giles said.
"And we've got some great concerns about the potential for other people being similarly affected, or possibly worse affected by sourcing a substance that they think is harmless."
The condition of the two men in hospital has improved overnight.

^ I had that happen to me at raves twice in a year period. It put me off K (when really I had no idea what was in the pills) and taught me to never just trust anyone, even friends, when it comes to drugs.

i think it happend to me aswell quite a while back.was sold this odd looking meth that wouldnt smoke up so i had to snort the stuff.at the start it was ok nice n speedy then when i went to work pushing trollies (i was sneaking off to the toilets every 30mins to have a bump) by the time i got through half the bag i had full on nausa ended up stumbling around the car park i was ment to be cleaning up then found a bush to lay in and throw up many times.my friend who worked there ended up covering for me.....all i had to do then was ride my push bike down the main highway to get home.fun time

later we went back to the dealer and she said it was meth cut with ketamine.....who knows what it was

Sounds like MXE to me. Nice and cheap highly profitable. Ketamine costs double the price of speed.

please excuse my ignorance as i haven't used xtc/mdxx regularly for many years and the last pill i consumed was a red star well over a year ago, and I have no experience with the current crystal MDMA scene...
The last time i had crystal MDMA was around 2001 or 2002 and only like twice, but i have consumed many E's from 1999 - 2005 and my question is;
How sure are you guys that the MDMA crystals you are getting is of a decent purity? I assume but correct me if im wrong that it would be just as easy to cut crystal MDMA as it is to cut crystal Methamphetamine...
I ask this because i have read several threads and posts in here and pillreports on the current xtc pill and crystal MDMA scene and it seems that some people who i would consider having at best a moderate tolerance to MDMA needing copious amounts to get smashed, and also alot of the comments people make on the effects of mdma seem heaps different to how i remember.
i can remember afew pills (one in particular) where 3 of them could easily fit one on top of the other into a normal sized empty capsule. these pills were tiny but one would smash the average user.
Im only bringing this up cos it seemed years ago alot less mdma was needed in a pill to make what most people would consider alot stronger E's, and i just question how pure alot of this crystal MDMA is.

Pills these days have very little MDMA in them (aus made anyway) and majority binders and whatever. I remember pills in 02/03 being smaller than these days but I think back then they used less binders that hardened firmer but had more MDMA in them. A lot of pills back then were imports to. Especially in the 90s from what I gather.
I find that if you test pure or very very pure MDMA crystal it bubbles and smokes where as if you have cut MDMA it may only slightly bubble but you don't get the smoking. Also there is some heat radiating from the test reaction with very pure MDMA crystal. This is just what I have noticed when I have reagent tested crystals.

that is true MDMA POWDER can be cut very easily BUT MD crystals/rocks are hard to cut unless you crush up the rocks.its pretty hard to cut up big ass brown/amber rocks
I like you js so dont take this the wrong way, but that is incorrect. Crystals do get cut, and recrystallised. It happens more than people think
