Good advice, not foolproof though. I don't think I've ever encountered a dealer (who I don't know well) who has told me their drugs are crap. It's always 'I've taken this and it was the bomb', so asking them whether they've tried it and liked it is probably a useless exercise.

I would also be cautious about going back to someone who has sold you shit and telling them that or demanding your money back. It's shit when it happens, but I tend to think, if you risk buying off an unknown source, 'risk' is the operative word, and if you get crap, well, that's part of the game. I've known some fuckheads who'd belt someone for saying their shit was bad, so be careful.

Well the new test kits are a tube with a peice of glass in them.You place your substance inside the the tube put the lid back on and snap the glass thingy inside the tube releasing the mandelin marquis what eva test you usin.It does make testing a whole lot easyer and great if your out at a festival or somthing but i just dont like change! i want the old bottles back im used to them.If your in australia you should definitely own a MCPP testing kit.The MCPP test screens for: meta-ChloroPhenylPiperazine (mCPP) and other Phenylpiperazines/pipes/BZP.The test kit Scott can be used to test for the presence of cocaine and crack cocaine. Strangely enough, the reagent also shows a reaction when in contact with MDPV and 5-MeO-MiPT, which are structurally totally different from eachother. :)
Water is also a good thing to use when testing for DXM :D

Theres also test kits for lsd and dmt now! take a look at ez-test.com.au if u get a chance BUT dont buy off them they are dicks!

Wonder if a pill testing booth could be set up at events? I know in NSW it isn't illegal to be in possession of the test kit, and testing for someone could not get you charged with supply/ possession. I was thinking along the lines of people come up to your booth with the scrapings, they pay for a test, place the scrapings on a white plate, you test, Bobs your uncle.
 
dr caldicott (spelling) tried that early/mid naughties (hate that word ha) and the police came down hard on it. as far as i know they were doing it in adelaide and melbourne not shure if they did anywhere else, it was enlighten group that did it all. i remember them at the old enchanted's round 2004/5

EDIT: i think the problem was their not allowed to give the drugs back if you hand it to them and they can be charged for handing it back.

Hence why they give you a scraping you can destroy.
 
Dr David Caldicott is a very committed harm reductionist who has put his ass on the line for the end user for many years. He is VERY outspoken about HR and has challenged the South Australian government to introduce a pill testing program since the early 00's, something that was recommended at the 2002 drugs summit. He is a researcher for the emergency & trauma department of the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He has written in detail about first response to large terrorist attacks. He has run a HR research group. He is a founding member of The List, a group of experts committed to maintaining the truth on illicit drug debate in the Australian media. He has written books and also managed the traumatox Project (one of the largest studies of it's kind in Aus) that's all I know off the top of my head, I'm sure there is plenty of things that I have forgotten...

They aren't allowed to handle illicit substances period and this is what shut down their (short lived) pill testing at events in Australia. Although it was stopped, they still helped to introduce pill testing to the masses so it wasn't all doom and gloom.

Phase Dancer would probably be able to tell you a lot more about him, especially some of his more recent work. I haven't heard much about him since 06/07. All I know is that we are lucky to have such dedicated researchers on our side and even though his pill testing push was shut down, he has still done a hell of a lot for harm reduction in Australia and I hope he is still sticking to his guns.

There is footage around of him and his colleagues testing pills at events 5-10 years ago. I would link to them but I'm too busy at work this morning...
 
drugs are bad. dont take any drugs kids.

instead we allow you to drink booze all you want. oh oh oh u like smoking tobacco? do that too.

loads of smoking and loads of drinking. BUT DONT TOUCH DRUGS KIDS
 
Yeah and dont worry about the tens if not 100's of thousands of people dying each year from liver/kidney failure or lung cancer. I suppose its fine to use them as they are legal! :! The government is looking out for us. God when will the government learn. Bunch of monkeys running the country.
 
God if I could run this country I'd legalise MDMA, think of all the cash you could generate from taxes. Have a pseudoephedrine style dispensing clinic, where there is a limit, not only will your drugs be safer and cleaner, you're regulating an controlling how much people take, and you'll be generating a shot load of revenue.

But hey MDMA is more dangerous than tobacco and alcohol.
 
^ Or they should have dedicated MDMA venues; licensed for the use of the drug on the premises, supervised by medically trained professionals who are interested in harm reduction and with the staff well versed in HR and what the limits should be. Would be an interesting experiment.

I just searched for ages looking for a picture that was used in the MAPS lecture at EGA last year. It was a fictitious mock up of the shopfront of a psychedelic healing clinic that pretty sums up your post :)

If anyone has the pic can they put it up here please?

I thought you would that's why I was kicking myself that I couldn't find it. It was on a slide that Rick used on the projector during his presentation.

I am pretty sure the picture wasn't in our handbooks as I remember the entire theatre sigh in unison as it was displayed :)
 
I don't think it would be a good idea for MDMA to be legalised. Legalising it may increase its use, because it will be seen as socially acceptable. People who do not use illicit drugs may decide to use it because it would no longer be illegal. People who do not currently use it may also begin to use it because it will be seen as less harmful, or even harmless, as a result of its legalisation.

I cannot see MDMA ever being legalised. Perhaps it may become part of treatment for PTSD, but I cannot see how the government can allow the drug to be available to the general population, given that the drug would be used for recreational purposes, and not to treat illness. The only two recreational drugs that are government-sanctioned are tobacco and alcohol, and these persist today because of their long history of use.
