These are some random song lyrics I wrote for my band... hope you enjoy. :D
"The Mad Highway"
I cut my ethics and good reason from myself again,
a cold season tends to harbor cold actions.
the snow on the windshield reminds me of myself,
my wealth of frozen aspirations,
I don't know the cost of today's determination,
my fascination with dirty secrets.
so here I am again on this mad highway,
a two-lane length of string with two ends,
one black, one white,
one brings what I pretend to be tonight.
and it swallows me alive.
the hours pass as I reflect on my contradictions,
flying past the Jesus signs and nowhere institutions.
so here I am again on this mad highway,
a diagram of the dichotomy of life,
a twisted sickened branch of the undivine,
and it swallows me alive.
so here I am again on this mad highway,
I remember times when this place was bright and bathed in the sun,
then all the good times came undone and the fires went out.
and I kept on driving and waiting for justification to reach me,
but I could not see that there are no epiphanies for the liars.
