Here is what you do: Get some Gabapentin/Neurontin to detox with. It is weaker, cheaper, and more easily available. Taper down over a course of a month, and you should be fine. Never stop Lyrica cold turkey. It is like stopping a mix of opiates and benzoes cold turkey. You MUST taper down. Even with Lyrica, but I would prefer the Gabapentin to get the Lyrica out of your body because it's stronger and much nastier.
There are many who don't know about the Lyrica withdrawal you can get when you stop cold turkey after abusing it or taking therapeutic doses. It is worse than a moderate opiate addiction, I would say. More like a combined opiate/benzo addiction. Just imagine. But it's much worse than a moderate opiate withdrawal. First you get the same symptomps with fever, vomitting and diarrea. But there is much more with Lyrica. You feel as you have fucked up your body and the depression. And while in opiate withdrawal you just lie in bed like you have the flu, when you stop Lyrica you get hyper stimulated and high blood pressure and also problems with breathing. So you can't get any rest and want to walk around all the time. Then at night you lie in bed sweating, unable to sleep, firts chilly, then hot, then your skin is super sensitive and you feel uncomfortable in the bed sheets. You wake up sweating and your bed is drenched, smells like horrible bacteria, have to take two showers a day. And the WORST thing about it is that unlike opiate withdrawal there is no improvement from day to day, it can even get worse, and it lasts longer, when one day is like hell on Earth. After 10 days I was ok, felt quite normal, just craving the drug. Worst experience of my life, bar none.
If you have gone and got yourself addicted to Lyrica, or are on a script that could be abruptly stopped, please take some precautions to avoid this hell:
Things that are good to have around:
Opiates + benzoes. Preferably both. They take care of the overstimulation, depression, anxiety and the physical symptoms. I used that for a week after quitting cold cold turkey and was comletely ok. But if you think about it, Lyrica is like a combination of opiates and benzoes. It helps lots.
Phenibut, if nothing else might help. It also works on Gaba. And mixed with some Valerian pills it totally knocks you out. Theanine can also help a bit. I took it with some magnesium and hops and felt 50% better for a while. Not sure which it was that worked.
Also tons of Vitamin C if you have it. Buy it in powder form and you can use like 50-100 grams a day. It is supposed to keep WD away alone by binding to the receptors, but I have never tried that. Either way, high doses of Vitamin C always helps when you're sick.
You want Sleeping pills, cause you won't be able to sleep . So make sure you have some. Zoplicone, seroquel, valium, or whatever gets you to sleep.
But really all this can be avoided if you just stock up on a moths supply og Gabapentin. I suggest a box of 100 600mg, and you might be ok with one or two a day.
Also some GOOD NEWS I have discovered about Lyrica for those who are dependent and in danger of going cold turkey: The amount you are using is not necessary the amount your body needs to stay ok. Say, if you take 1000 mg every other day, or whatever your pattern is. This is a lot of drugs and your body won't be able to make use of it. Even if it makes you more high, it's surplus for your body and it's not dependent
on that amount.
So if your usual dose is 1200 this is not the amount of drug your body is dependent on. That is more likely 300-600. a is so expensive and it can also save you days of withdrawal if you can't afford or your doctor won't give you a script for it. This is great as it means you might only have to experience half of your period of withdrawal, or take some days of it, maybe avoid it completely. This is good to know as Lyrica is good to know because every Lyrica WD day is a day in hell.
So please follow my advice and you avoid Lyrica hell. It's not really that hard when you know what to do and is prepared for it. Trust me, it's not an experience you will want, even just for one day.
