i've been taking this pregabalin daily for 2+ months, currently at 600-800mg a day, rarely less.

there is tolerance but still ! today i saw the most amazing play of light while riding down the highway! the colors were so outstanding, so saturated. i felt talkative, carefree relaxed and at the same time energized. this is after at least 5 weeks of high dosage daily use. i need much higher dosages than in the beginning (without tolerance i would take 150mg to feel like what's 450mg now), but i'm impressed by how effective or even pleasurable it still is.
i have skipped a day, twice, and the second time (last week) there was a very light GHB-like feeling of "withdrawal" but again very mild. i wonder at what point in time WDs will become a worry for me?

Lyrica is the tits though tolerance grows super fast to euphoric effects. I've been taking it for a while and it is still one of the best anxiolytics I have tried. Results are rapid and don't take accumulation of the drug in the blood stream. I took 300mgs this morning along with my suboxone and I'm in a good mood

how do you deal with tolerance?

i'm now trying to have at least one day a week where i don't take any lyrica or only a very small dose.

Is redosing worth it? I have a bunch of these laying around. I just took 150mg about 1:15 ago and not really feeling anything. Should I eat a few more or is it too late?


I take .5mg Xanax daily for about 2.5 years now. I am also on 10mg vicodin a day for my back. I don't really feel the other two drugs because I use therapeutic doses for those two.

it can take more than 1:15 hr to kick in for me. especially on a full stomach it can take two hours before first signs. only on an empty stomach and a fired-up metabolism i'll get a 1-hour onset.

redosing works okay for me, up to a certain point. staggering 600mg by having it in four doses, hours apart, is much less impressive than having it in one or two doses. some people don't like the (different type of) high that redosing gives, i think it has its own time and place.

Ya i didnt redose. it was on an empty stomach and i didnt feel the slightest buzz. maybe due to my long term Xanax use? i tried 300mg today. We will see how that goes.

t+4hrs - feeling a slight buzz resembling what xanax used to feel like until i had a tolerance but thats about it. i even took my normal 10mg vicodin and 1mg xanax.


Well, I have 675mg left....guess i should wait a week or so and drop it all at once? I was gonna go to 450, but not really worth keeping 3 of them unless i give them to my wife with no tolerance or benzo/alcohol abuse. I keep seeing this "ecstacy sedation" described but I have not felt anything close to this. I read somewhere that 600mg is the seizure threshold and I really don't go above those on anything so maybe ill just drop 600mg and give one to the wife...maybe she will feel 1 lol...Any recommendations?

I find pregabalin to be brilliant receationaly personaly.I would take 1200 mg twice a day for 6 months and feel drunk very talkative chat to anyone and everyone.The only slight problem is my loss off balance but i find that fun also most of the time.But for people new to the substance start ofat low doses and build up be cool!!!!

I've been curious as to when withdrawal kicks in, I go 1 day on and 2 days off and never feel anything on days off but always here these horrible wd stories. If your feeling very mild wd off missing 1 day and use it continually at 600mg daily I'd imagine it may creep up on you sooner than later. I guess we can wait for an answer together.

I took my first dose of pregabalin the other day at 100 mg. It was, to say the least, pleasant and not so subtle. I had a bit of buprenorphine the night prior to dosing the pregabalin, and it was my first time with buprenorphine, too, but even though I noticed the bupe still working through the day, maybe a little over an hour or so after I popped the 100 mg of pregabalin, I was feeling really different and actually quite "high". It was what I'd imagine a short-acting barbiturate might be like, but with a slight tripped-out, spacey feeling to it, but REALLY anxiolytic with the bupe, in combination. It actually gave me a decent "jelly" feel, and a bouncy feel, too. It made me a little lightheaded, I'd say, and caused a bit of astasia-abasia, but it was great. I do take tramadol, benzos, and amphetamines every day, though, so all of those, with the bupe, probably led to this synergy, but it was like a nice, kind, non-overwhelming DXM-(benzo for the first time) kind of feel. It was quite sedating, and I would even say euphoric. I am going to enjoy this more now that I know, but the thing is I am reading it loses its magic quickly and such, so maybe I'll save it for special occasions or maybe for the odd time I need something other than a benzo or more tramadol to relax for therapeutic, and not just recreational, purposes. Or, maybe, I'll save it for when I use more bupe, having finished the ~ 1.5 - 2 mg section of a strip a few hours ago, this being the third night to make use of it due to a low opioid tolerance. Also, a surprisingly nice drug, just a bit more sedating than I thought it would be, but that makes sense thinking on it.

I have Fibromyalgia and scoliosis and osteoarthritus and just biding my time to go back to pain specialist to get more nerves burned in my neck and back.

I have been taking lyrica for 3 years. I take between 150 - 200 mg depending how severe the pain is but I am also taking topamax, arcoxia for pain. I have tramadol but it justs makes me sleepy and my skin itchy as hell so I avoid like the plague.

I can't take Codeine or morphine.

The topamax and lyrica are also been used as mood stabilisers as well as rivotril, Xanax, and epilim.

I can't say that they are great as I still need to take ibuprofen and paracetamol together to help with pain management.

Not sure if I want to stay on it, but it's always the withdrawals that a killer and tend to put you off!!!

I've been on this since march and have gained over 20 pounds. It doesn't help much (if at all) with pain and I've never had any withdrawals whatsoever. I had been taking norcos prior to this but my pain doc was "asked to retire" so I had to start all over. After suffering through a few worthless pain meds e.g. Nucynta, I now have a low dose fent patch and one norco a day. Lyrica really packed the pounds on! Grrrrrrr!

Am I alone in having thought at first that this drug was the one I'd been waiting for: absolutely killed my anxiety in a way that felt similar to the opiate anti-anxiolytic effect; relaxation and immunity to problems better than any benzo; able to socialise with absolute ease for the first time in years which made me feel positively euphoric - in short, a miracle drug - only to find that within weeks tolerance developed to the point where none of these effects were felt, and I was left feeling utterly devastated.

No tolerance increase brought back these feelings of wanting to grasp life by the balls. Genuinely devastated. Ah well.

Hi, no you are not alone in your thoughts that lyrica is a miracle drug as this stuff completely removed benzo withdrawals for me, but aside from that effect i still take a little benzo and it gets greatly potentiated so 50 mg oxazepam get me wasted like would i take 300 mg oxazepam without lyrica, but better not to copy behaviour like this as you can OD using lyrica combined with another CNS depressant like especially methadone has to be warned for.
What i mean is not to take lyrica together with methadone if you do not know what you can expect before so when you know that i am at 160 mg methadone a day, now and then i add 300 mg seroquel, the 900 mg pregabalin and the benzo so quite a bite all this stuff and i repeat dont copy this behaviour it can kill you i hope that is clear enough.
Important with pregabalin is that you should respect this drug and not to dose according to tolerance development else before you know it you will need 3 grams of lyrica a day and feel normal only so best would be to use this stuff about three times a week, but i cant do this so i do take my daily prescribed 900 mg and feel good with this amount as aside from helping benzo withdrawals pregabalin also has an effect on depression, which works better for me then any known SSRI, SNRI, NassA etcetera.
I tried to reply before, but everytime my words vanished so i leave this one short as i think i will lose my words again ffs It worked this time so i am editing my reply a little bit to make clear what i like to say.
Like mentioned lyrica has anti depressant properties, but i take my 900 mg in one go whereas i could imagine that its better to dose twice or even three times a day only since i used 3 grams of lyrica myself and realized what kind of madness that was made me stop it first then some days later i started the 900 mg dose and i felt as good as i did when i started using pregabalin. The same 900 initally euphoric mg's currently just keep me feeling well enough, but for the third time here do not copy and do not forget the rather insane doses i used to use not only from the lyrica its more the combo methadone/benzo/lyrica all in high doses whom i fear for other people without the tolerance to do so, be warned and think first, thanks.

Freek, what kind of side effect did you experience at 3000mg per day? And what kind of side effects at 900mg per day?

Since last week I went up from 600mg to 850-1000mg per day. I am worried about side effects because 600mg is often found as the "maximum daily dosage".
I want to continue with daily use, because it works better for me than regular antidepressants and it also removes the need to take benzo's (or other sedatives). Usually I wait 4 or 5 hours between doses (three doses a day).

i am so offended i have neve damage,6 a day 600 ok hyper an a little ho##y my legs hurt so bad i rather have em cut..did you know if i did my nerves would tell my brain they were still there! lyrica on me with a Le'roy white russian 44 oz im hitting the bed,10 white russians i lose feeling in hands and legs...
taking 8 800 gagapentin i think my doc is gonna refuse any more help
Now i have to see a pain clinic,it will cost me $450.00 a month and i make $1200.00 a month...

1g + is way too much lyrica IMO.... paradoxical effects start to occur, and it loses therapeutic value..

i usually stay at 900 and below if i want to have fun, but for anxiolysis, i take 300-600mgs and it works like a charm potentiating suboxone and is really great for anxiety

DO you guys find that when you take like 1000mg of prgabalin you get a nice buzz for 2-3 hours but then you get a crash where you feel dysphoirc and anxious.
Sometimes i have to take like 4 zopiclone to calm me down!!! Is this normal???

This was normal for me during the first few weeks of treatment on this drug. I would take the dose in the morning and feel fantastic up until early evening, when my mood would drop severely. I'd definitely describe this as a come down, but in contrast to stimulant come downs the sense of depression strongly outweighed the sense of anxiety, although the latter was still definitely present. This feeling will go away with time however. But then again so will the euphoric feelings. Personally, although I wouldn't recommend anyone follow this advice in the interests of harm reduction, if I was to use Pregabalin recreationally, I would make sure I had a fair few benzos and some alcohol present to knock me out before the crash hit.

It's funny how quickly this drug is gaining in popularity. I wonder if the increase in interest amongst recreational users is in part due to an increase in prescriptions of Pregabalin, after it was licensed for use in psychiatric disorders which was, in the UK at least, only fairly recently?

You feel this way because 1000mg is too much, any side effects are paradoxical..stop taking that much lyrica
