Gabapentinoids The Lyrica (Pregabalin) Mega Thread v 2.0

If you use Lyrica for pain or anything like that I definetly wouldn't recommend trying to abuse it. I've only tried doing it a few times and I've noticed a reduction in Lyricas effectiveness afterwards - although this could just be my perception of it. Tried snorting a gram , felt alright. Wont bother again.

I guess you enjoy snorting mountains of powder lol, try parachuting like 1200mg and tell me if it works any better

Yeah that good/kinda high feeling that can come when
first you use neurontin or lyrica ...it never lasts..

After my car accident -- when i was trying to get off the 300mg a day of oxycodone ER and oxycodone IR i was taking fresh out of the hospital - my doctor gave me lyrica to alleviate the pain that i was having as they took me off the opiates. WHen i would inevitably run out of opiates mid month - lyrica almost completely attenuated the syndromes of withdrawal - it was, frankly, amazing... Not as amazing as the suboxone i eventually got on - but very helful

Go ahead and mess around with Lyrica ,but i warn you itis a dangerous drug as dangerous as benzos.you get addicted to it and it is ADDICTIVE and you will have a wd on your hands that is nasty nasty.
I know I have taken it for 3yrs for nuero pain and its made me fat.swollen, stupid and very sick.
Its easier to come off of heroin,,so I have heard.
and mixed with benzos -well I am losing my mind.
So as long as you dont become tolerant guess you would be okay.but dont get like me,cause I am in a world of sht.
be careful ...

yes lyrica so good for withdrawls -I regret letting it go as it could help w my ativan addiction -but it has made me so ill....after 3yrs even at low dose 225 mgs...

the withdrawl is god awful ---I have tired and tried to get off -cry like a baby -gonna try again go real slow like 25 mgs every 2 weeks and even that is gonna hurt-I have nueropathy in my feet.I dont know whether to go slow or just get it over with and suffer for 3 months after?any thoughts?

I've noticed quite profound mental deficites from using Lyrica as prescribed for just over a year - I already have certain learning difficultys and this sure has not made it any better. BUT it has been a God send for the allodynia in my scalp and other areas so for that I thank it. Shame about it fucking up my synapses, sperm and god knows what else.

Does anybody know a good way to dissolve lyrica?

I tested about 1000 mg today in water and it didn't dissolve really. It kind of clumped it.

I'm not interested in IV'ing lyrica, but I would like to figure out a way to get it prepped for IV use so I can just swallow the solution.
I have trouble swallowing the capsules... and I don't like parachuting the powder. Any help would be appreciated.

It's freely soluble in water, but the inactive ingredients I think are what make it more like an emulsion, rather than a filtered solution.

So make sure that you filter it, For a while I would plug my 300mg caps in 1mL of water and it was so thick pre-filtration.

You could also just pour it in a drink, koolaid, etc.

It's not absolutely necessary to filter when administering a solution rectally.

However, if you plan to use any ROA besides oral, rectal, or nasal (which I've heard is not very effective) you absolutely MUST micron filter.

I've been taking Pregabalin occasionally for just over a year now, sometimes in mega doses (2100 - 3600 mg), and I recently came across this article:
http://planetthrive.com/2009/10/neurontin-and-lyrica-are-a-death-sentence-for-new-brain-synapses/

My mind has felt rather dull for quite a while, and this is a very scary notion. What are your thoughts on this? It's impossible to know without actual investigation, I know, but would limiting the use of PGN to around twice a month limit the brain damage?

You realize that site is basically a front for supplements companies? I'd take whatever they say with a grain of salt, because they obviously have a big vested interest in pushing their 'natural' agenda.

Hello all

I was prescribed Lyrica for anxiety and i'm on the second day now. Im noticing a few a side effects, and the one that's really bothering me is that my lips are swollen and kinda numb. It's really weird.

Did this happened to anybody here?

I'd say that may be from water retention...I'm not sure though.

I got it too, I just take it once in a blue moon to kick back...similar to a glass of wine or a valium...typical gaba like effects with a unique twist...its a very mellow but weird drug.

It's nice when not consumed too often :)

Pregaballin' foe life.

300mg puts me where I like to be pretty much at the moment, I have been enjoying them whilst on bupe wd and have been taking as low doses as possible since I try to be as not-high as I can rly.

Yesterday I took 150mg with 2,5mg of nitrazepam and was pretty surprised.. Positively.

I have a question about how fast can Lyrica withdrawals get to you? I'm currently taking Lyrica since Monday, and have been doing so by skipping days. Monday I took 600mg, Tuesday no Lyrica, Today (Wednesday) again took 600mg. So, I am taking it every other day to numb my Methadone withdrawal. I don't want to take it everyday because I'm afraid of the withdrawals after. I plan on going on Lyrica for atleast a month more by skipping days, but soon when the withdrawals from Methadone go mild I'll lower the dose to 300mg.

So, will I be having w/ds from this regime after 1 month of use? When I stop Lyrica I'm still going to take Clonazepam daily, could it numb the possible w/ds since it's also a GABA receptor substance (I may be wrong here)?

question to a bluelighter, i couldve sworn i read something confirming pregabalin indirectly agonized the ghb receptor.. that also explained its odd combination of both stimulant and depressant effects
think it mightve been that it enhances gaba, and in turn that binds to the ghb receptor but again i cant find any information confirming or denying this and i was curious as to if anyone could help enlighten me one if not both questions

^Both Pregabalin (Lyrica) and Gabapentin (Nuerontin) have still unknown exact mechanisms of action. Pfizer, the manufacturer of Lyrica, states this on their website; they also say that it reduces levels of "substance P" and glutamate, as well as stabilizing norepinepherine levels without re-uptake inhibition. I can just about guarantee by its effect that it has a positive GABAergic effect. As a first thought I'd say its certainly possible that it somehow increases levels of GHB, but there are chemists on bluelight with more fundamental knowledge than I; if you don't get a response then I'd recommend posting in ADD. I saw your post here: http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/511723-Lyrica-s-Mechanism-of-Action. Just curious, why are you interested? Sorry I can't give you a specific answer. Many people do find it actually stimulating at high doses, with a characteristic "ecstasy" or "GHB" feeling, but I'm sure you know this is reductive. I've personally never had Pregabalin, but the Gabapentin I tried was sure an intense drug.

Peace

Never took this one but i'm getting it tomorrow. Will use it for pain relieve but i also wanted to test out it's AD-properties. What's a good starter-dose? Thanks!

Lyrica has been my savior now when going through benzo withdrawal. I've used Lyrica a few years ago at 600mg/day for GAD and benzo withrawal. Back then I failed my benzo WD and instead got addicted to pregabalin too. However WD from Lyrica isn't that bad and tapering down from 600mg/day was quite painless and took a few months. Now though I'm determined to go through with my benzo WD and there's no way I could do it without Lyrica (and beta blockers).

It's great fun when used recreationally too, but I have gained a huge tolerance to GABAergics and have to take 1000+ mg Lyrica to have fun. About a month ago I ended up taking almost 4 grams in one day/night, which is my highest dose ever by far. I did add 15 mg Noopept which could have contributed to the ridiculous dose as Noopept made me feel almost sober at first.

Start with 150 mg. It may take up to 3 hours before you feel the effects, although usually I feel it in 1-2 hours. So don't re-dose too soon thinking it doesn't work. Pregabalin has a very high safety profile but combined with alcohol it can get extremely intoxicating fast as they potentiate each other. The same thing with benzos. Alcohol with high doses of Lyrica tends to make me very nauseous too.
