glad we didn't go to cincy... heard it sucked bad.... check out the review thread.... if you're not going to promotr right, whay throw the party at all????
 
What all these DnB party people need to realize is that none of thier parties are going to be great without throwing in other styles as well - im talking something like a 50/50 split between trance and dnb at the least.

Im not saying that to dog on dnb at all - but its evident - cincy, loud, etc.

Then look at more trance-orienated parties: robotika, wicked2 - they rocked. (robotika - it was okay - just had a police problem).

Just my a=1000, (.000002a) cents.
 
i hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. TXG sorry to hear that you were in the hospital.. i hope things are better.:) I went to see Deep Dish in Chicago on Friday. It was a lovely time. I'm not really into prog house but i must say Deep Dish rocked out. They didn't play anything slow or boring at all. I loved the bar, it was phenomenal! Lindz it was great seeing you there. We all had a blast! i'm so broke now its not funny.. but we need something to go down way closer to home. the drive home sucked.

interestng point you are making and mostly i agree- that DnB doesn't have enough support on it's own to warrant a straight-up DnB party (although nate's pressure party with dieselnutz was rockin'). you couldn't thrw and all-trance party either... Techno certainly has it's following as does house but for any promoter to really rock shit out, they need to have a lil something for everyone... that way everyone has a reason to wanna pay to come in.

however:

Robotika and wicked2 were in NO WAY trance-oriented parties... wicked2 was all techno and booty house and booty-tech except for 4 records that irene spun which were straight from my trance bag. robitika had more variety but no trance still... (trance is kinda hated in these parts which is sad, 'cause i love it...but anyway...)

and yes, deep dish was the fucking BOMB!
 
i agree with your thought DJLA....personally, i don't care too much for d&b but agree that it has its place at parties.... i really believe that a party with only one genre of music will not succeed..... basically to attract a large crowd and a vairety of people, you must have a vriety of music..... no one wants to watch different variations the same movie every time they go to the movies......
 
I should correct myself then - then i say trance - i am pretty much refering to anything that isnt really RAP-based, such as what i consider house to be.

What i really ment was techno - I just listen to so much (hard)trance that i consider it to be 'techno'.

Dont try to correct me - im very stubborn :P

rap-based? wtf?

i'm just wondering where this new generation of kids is being educated??? rap-based? what?

i will grant you this however... to the untrained ear, hard trance *can* be confused with techno. you just need to listed to lots of examples of both to be able to hear the difference (in bpm, sounds, phrasing, etc)
 
When i hear house - it reminds me alot of rap - a genre i dont specifically like.

Ive been around electronica since 97 - not old enough to tell you stories about synthesizer-created hardcore underground stuff - but i know what i like.
 
Just stressing seriously, im really making myself sick doing it. Its mainly the fact that my ass has been all over the vill and i cant find a damn job. Damn Job NAZIS!
