we are too! deep dish is totally amazing, no matter what drek says... sure, they have some downtempo stuff but most of their stuff is totally dancefloor friendly. i picked up the "Flashdance" track about a month ago and it's totally groovin'!

PLUS, if you haven't been to soundbar you're missing out. they designed the bar around the sound- the way it should be. and it is so loud you can't light a cig but so clean that your ears don't hurt when you leave. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! we saw digweed up there about a month ago and were floored.


i'll tell you, i HATE dressing up to get into clubs and bars, but for soundbar and deep dish- it's totally worth it.

yeah!! i heard soundbar was dope.. actually my friend's bf reserved us a table from 12-2 and we were promised to meet deep dish, so i am really excited!! even though i'm not really into deep dish all that much, it sounds like a crazy good time. and i loooooove that flashdance song! Lindz we're gonna have to meet up. i'm actually from evansville. i KNOW you are going on friday! see you there!

So derek... i think the list you posted is great and indeed, those are the names of the moment... but why did you say to leave off american DJs? D:Fuse for example is totally american and for sure a great DJ. Jesse Saunders, derrick carter, jeff mills...all amazing pioneers in EDM and all american.

Another note: many of the people you listed were house DJs, or progressive house anyway. Hey, i'm not bitching, i <3 house, just thought it was interesting.

This is an interesting conversation.

You're busting on sasha? Sasha has brought more to the studio than most other DJs over the past 2-3 years. he consistently pushes the envelope and creates new and better and different sounds... the man is a fuckin genius.
 
How about DJ Gius? Or Max Graham? But truly, ATB has been putting out great tracks for years. I also like Fergie and Yomanda. "On The Level" took it all to a new level.

I just dont like the american sound.......to me it just sounds too much of the same. I dont like it extremely hard.....what i do like about house is is that the basslines are rather punchy. Simply, the Europeans call their edm "techno/trance" the americans are the ones who have broken edm down into every category imaginable. what you call progressive house i call simply hard trance. this is just like religion......baptists call it one thing , catholics another and the mormons do whatever the hell they want hahahahaha. (i grew up a little mormon boy)
But to summarize i simply cannot stand the american realm of what techno has been sliced into.
 
germans for the most part dont listen to dnb, jungle, or breaks......myabe breaks alot more than the other two. there is too much to choose from in the states. and that is why the scene so divided

look hater...... perfecto presents another world is one of my favs..... and i could have typed "song to the siren" written by lost witness, but you know what??? everyone knows what i mean, so chill..... trying to make someone look stupid??? thats really nice of you..... after all the times i put in a good word for you with the masses.... and you don't even know me.... its all good tho..... besides... did is ay i liked the words??? no.... i do though.... i was talking about the music.... we were talking about trance??? so your observation was really quite off track......:)

I'm not hating or trying to make anyone look stupid. A DJ, most of the time, is only as good as the music he plays. Oakenfold is overrated. Sure, he was the man at one time. But times are changing and there's something new on the horizon. Louisville is too far behind to see what's ahead. So sorry to offend anyone.
