Since this is now a discussion about the omnibus crime bill.

The criticism of this bill was about what it could do, theoretically.

I would say we have seen the effect of the bill, now that it has been implemented, and criticism requires more than theories.
 
The only thing it could possibly do is increase the number of people in jail and create more job security for law enforcement and corrections officers. What is with your vague comments about a country you know so little of?

The stated purpose of the bill was to decrease crime, passing of the bill at a time of very low crime rates indicates that this was not the true purpose.
