Kratom The Kratom Megathread

^ Yes, but all the synthetics (opioids) are derived from opiates (naturally occurring alkaloids of papaver), afaik.

I went a little crazy and did-nonstop dosing for a month straight using 1oz-1.2oz of powdered maeng da per day. Last dose was Friday and I feel like shit. The not-motivated-to-do-anything aspect of the withdrawal is what kills me. It probably didn't help to stop taking etizolam at the same time either, but I still am sleeping 8hr/night. Getting out of bed is like climbing Mt. Everest. I have to force myself to do everything from shaving to driving.

Man the physical ache I have sometimes waking up makes me feel like I'm 80. Luckily I've never experienced a full on opiate withdrawal so I can't say if kratom WD is even close but phenibut knocked out most of my WD symptoms. By day 4 most of the physical problems are done, it's just the boredom that gets to me. I am still able to eat, go to the gym, go to work, function around people during withdrawal. I mean this was after 2 years of daily plain leaf use. But kratom withdrawal is real and it's something to consider before taking.

My last few kratom experiences have been riddled with a plague of negative side effects.

I've tried it a few times in the past, a few different products from headshops, had some pretty decent experiences but nothing too crazy for better or worst.

Recently got my hands on some Maeng Da from two different vendors.

First time I tried to do toss and wash, puked.

Then onto capsules and when I finally got it down, despite some half decent effects, I ended up being overwhelmed with an experience reminiscent of a bad weed high but not exactly the same.If you're one who knows what I'm talking about, you may be familiar with the feeling of anxiety, quite heady, and not really fun, very psychological and also psychedelic in the worst way possible. Not even mentioning how it also makes me still feel kinda sick to my stomach and that feeling kinda also deducts from any positive.

I tried it a few times, some of them not being quite so bad, but the underlying difficulties are still present to some degree.

I was thinking perhaps a strain change would make a difference, but I don't know. Was thinking maybe less is more might be a better approach and then I was also maybe thinking at a higher dose, a euphoric opiate effect could come into play that would counter this, but quite doubtful of that.

Thoughts?

Relapsed on Kratom this weekend after having quit for 2 and 1/2 weeks... was having PAWS and was at a college grad party and was the night of my birthday. Trigger on top of trigger on top of trigger. Did a couple low doses of extract from the local head shop within a ~20 hour period. And now some physical symptoms are back. From that! Will this ever go away? :/

^ Yes if you stay clean and find something positive to replace the kratom with.. doing the same things you were before you quit eventually lead back to the drug.. at least in my experience.

Anyone else get powdered kratom and not be able to dose because you were already in withdrawal? Worst experience. It's so frustrating trying to get a toss-n-wash to stay down when you keep gagging from being in withdrawal and knowing that the only way out is to get this shit to stay down, lol. It's ironically evil.

I was quite awhile deep and up to ridiculous amounts a day of PL, and went to the doctor was diagnosed with high blood pressure...I immediately threw away my kratom and quit COLD TURKEY....I ididnt have any withdrawal....maybe slight but I don't think I was expecting it and it this may have had something to do with it. Also the looming fear of my heart condition and wanting to correct it without meds....the doc recommended that my BP be controlled with meds...I refused, quit kratom , immediately started working out changed my diet..I went about six months without...no WD as you guys are describing...no where near..and absolutely no PAWS...my BP was corrected and I decided to get back on the leaf, well, bc I love how it supplements me. I know everyones different but Im just telling you my experience..

PS the next two CT's resuted in fairly annoying but not severe WD lasting three days total....absolutely EASY..easier than alcohol, tobacco and cannabis combined in my experience and I used to be 12+ pack a day drinker of 8% ales for 15 years. really bad alcohol habit

If your withdrawal can be controlled with phenebut alone....this is not bad withdrawal. Ask any opiate/heroin addict what benzos do for them in WD ; barely takes the edge off but better than nothing...seriously.

^^ Im not saying its not BAD....any WD is going to be bad but in comparison is what Im stressing, kratom is very doable.

It just sucks that there is a very real herbal remedy for opiate addicts, pain patients and many more things that opiates are used to treat. And this thing is legal available and whole worlds safer and easier to cease using. This thing is called kratom...some people with little experience with opiate addiction get habitual fucking around irresponsibly with kratom and then scream the sky is falling. It hurts the legality of this plant. It hurts our freedoms. It gives the power to the pharm industry.....its not just about KRATOM ...its about us as individuals taking health into our own hands...Please use this leaf responsibly....if you get burned by it...remember it could be worse..

PS one thing I found more difficult to quit than anything else has been ...yup you guessed it...CAFFIENE

This is the thread for collected experiences and discussions related to kratom. This thread should be used to answer any and all questions about the use of kratom as a medicine/ drug.

Here's a link to the last page of the old thread.

also, does anyone know what causes the eye wiggles aka nystagmus at higher doses? it is very similar to the nystagmus you get from a strong MDMA tab. that makes me wonder.

is it rational of me to think that if i try kratom i am as bad as a heroin junkie on the street begging for change?

or that it may lead me to ruin like them?

Lots of dietary fiber.

The reason I ask about nystagmus was it may help to elucidate the mechanism of some active alkaloid. Shulgin mentions this side effect in his books as it relates to phenethylamines & tryptamines. It has shown up in users & studies of tramadol too, which really begs the question - does Kratom contain an alkaloid that has any significant effect at the 5HT receptors?

On second thought, perhaps it's NE.

Odd you mention that because Kratom and Tramadol feel almost identical to me, tramadol a little more warm feeling and longer lasting though.
But if i was given a blind equipotent dose of each, not sure if i could tell the difference.
I think it does have serotonin activity. Not sure which metabolite would have it but i think that is why it mixes so well with etizolam (because that has a certain effect on serotonin too if im not mistaken).
I always say that etizolam is to benzos as to what tramadol is to opiates (i think i worded that right).

About the fiber thing, i dont see how people get constipated from kratom. 1 cuz of the fiber and 2 because it seems to be more stimulant like than the opiods that block you up.
I find im more "regular" with my BM's while taking kratom.

I was just wondering like vitamins or carbs stuff like that. I guess we wont really be able to figure it out tho cuz it's not tested for that cuz it's "not for human consumption" lol.
