The Ketamine Discussion thread

I'm about to have a five day ketamine infusion for pain relief and to get off Oxycontin...worried that the ketamine will not be strong enough to counteract the opiate withdrawals...has anyone had any experience with this or could advise if the ketamine will help with withdrawals? Sorry if this is not the appropriate forum but just looking for any help/information! Have been on heavy opiate meds for last 18 months but never had K before. Thanks ! :)

I found that it ketamine provided a lot of relief when I was withdrawing- it both seemed to help the physical discomfort as well as the psychological pain/cravings.

The main drawback was that it did make it harder to get to sleep although it probably helped me pass out of exhaustion- if that makes sense?

How are you going about doing this? As in, is this being administered at some detox facility or have your worked this out independently?

Thanks for the reply :) I'm being admitted to a hospital - to be administered by a drip and for observation. Have been reducing the Oxy over the past couple of months and down to 60mg/day. I used to be a heroin user when i was much younger so am well aware of how bad opiate withdrawals can get and very much not keen to go through it again! Does the K help with the restless legs/arms/everything and the anxiety?

came across 3 pts of k after years of looking. Was wondering if i should rail my dose at the start, say 100mg one time, 200mg the next, or just bump the 300mg gradually over a night maybe

I find k is way better in higher doses rather than bumps. I would go with railing maybe 80-100mg straight up. but that's just me and I havnt been able to get hold of k in over a year so don't know what the qualitys like ATM. And I always had k at the end of a big night as sort of a chill out thing and ending to the night.

I had my first line of k at a doof last week, i had 50mg which i found fairly strong, it made walking a little tricky, still managed to go to the d floor and try to groove out, ended up mixing it with some mxe 40 mins after my line of k which sent me to hyperspace.

Depends what your looking for id say 50mg to be functional and 70-80mg to goto bliss state

I found 50mg made me a bit spaced but functional
80mg made me very spaced, functional, but probably wouldn't be able to hide intoxication
110mg made me extremely spaced, could walk around with difficulty, carry on weird one-on-one conversations and get extremely confused by group conversations
I recommend starting around the 50-80 mark and doing bigger lines every time you redose depending on how far you want to go

I'm going to be at a friends house for the weekend with my gf and friends bf so we probaby are looking to get not functional so around ~100mg?

If its your very first time and have less that 75kgs body weight i would suggest starting a little lower just incase, you can allway increase after gauging your reaction.

65mg if under 75kg and 75-80mg if over 75kg.

Its very different to acid and other psychs, do you have any experence with MXE?

If it was me, and my/others first time, I would start us all off on 50mg bumps to get a slight feel for the effects and headspace. Then do progressively larger bumps throughout the night, every hour or so. Doing that, it'll feel like the longest night of your life haha

Pretty sure that's sourcing bro.

In any case, I've always found ketamine to be like a lot of psychedelics (particularly LSD/DMT) where it just comes and goes with little rhyme or reason...the tide just comes in for a week, a month, three, six, nine months everyone has it, everyone can get it and inevitably at every party there is a collection of very relaxed folk reclining on a couch or just flat out lying propped up on the floor hovering up big Scarface lines off an ancient Cyprus Hill CD case.

Then something happens, the stars fall out of alignment and it vanishes and (if you did enough when it was around ;)) you're left dazed and alone...wondering if you imagined all those nights where it seemed like every second person was wonky as fuck.

I imagine it's largely because it's still a fairly new, 'niche' drug (it was only invented in the '60s, people have been using cannabis/opiates for at minimum 5000 years) that doesn't seem to have a huge addiction liability...you can get addicted to it, but it's almost entirely psychological and dissociative addiction seems to be pretty rare in general. So there just isn't the same demand for a 24/7/365 ketamine supply as there is for heroin, cocaine or even meth and to an extent MDMA.

Do other people have this impression? My info is based on my experience here in NZ as well as over in Europe (Germany, France, UK, Eire)

Just a reminder for people.

K and other dissociative drugs are not addictive like opiates, cocaine, tobacco etc. They can be psychologically addictive in that they are an instant anti-depressant and are excellent at helping one stop using addictive drugs. The trick is to stop the addictive drugs and not just replace them with K, MXE, 3-MEO etc. K is just average in my opinion compared to some of the new "legal" (in some countries) dissociative drugs (MXE, 3/4- MEO PCP) but is still an excellent drug/medication for the above situations. Also K is far superior to Nor-ethylketamine (latest "legal" and metabolite of ketamine) and 2 meo pce. Pain relief is also excellent in the correct dosage, far more effective for some specific types of pain than opiates (eg nerve pain). Spinal injuries are usually treated with K in emergency departments as opposed to opiate drugs. Clinical trials for the effective use of K as an antidepressant are being conducted in a number of countries. This drug was developed to administer to wounded GI's in 'Nam during the 60's because opiates depressed the respiratory system to much and doses to relieve pain from say a fragmentation mine detonation were as likely to OD the GI as to relieve pain.

^ That's some very interesting info there lovepsychadelics, I really want to try ketamine but I've never heard of it being available in any of my circles.

went about it pretty slowly first up. Was super surprised how easy it was to get round on a busted ankle and didnt get any nausea at all till i did a 50mg line at the end. Lying down felt great though. Like everything i thought opiates would be. Comedown was shitty though. Weeds a must

Just picked up a bunch last night. I love the mental state it puts me in. It's good for taking a step back and thinking about everything going on and putting things in perspective

has anyone here had experience combining K with racetams?, im taking aniracetam and noopept and should be getting some K next week to try for the first time ever!

but i would like to know if they synergise so i can take it easy on the dosage of if there are any negative interactions..
