i've seen your countenance one last time,
though resolve
and late night sessions
(with the shadows)
have not allowed me to forget.
is it time to seek
a different light?
(so to speak?)
i once found comfort
in closed heavy lids
now, at best, they serve only
as cause to lash out.
time to focus the lens-
time to open some windows-
remember,
i've been your pupil
for much too long
and the irises weep
for some soul companionship.

wow ice!
"the eyes are the windows of the soul"
your soul must be beautiful Ice. thank you :)

I read this earlier and I've just read it again. After reading it this time, I'm getting a whole different meaning from it. "Weep not for your memories."
I just wanted to say that this is wonderful.

I agree, Sara. Wonderful is definitely a word that comes to mind.
Iceeie: through all of the times that we have talked over the last year (or more?), you've given me glimpses, peeks at things far deeper than you ever seem to share with others. The reason that I know you don't share? You've told me yourself. :)
In this forum, in your words, I see a few of the working-conclusions that you've come to from all of those layers of you. And sweetheart, you're brilliant. It's not just the way you put your words together (although that always blows me away too), it's the way you've put your thoughts together, the calm with which you greet the world. You inspire me, don't ever doubt how amazing you are.
