The interior of the presidential medicine cabinet...

Hey everyone, I was just thinking about what it would be like to be president of a country...in this case the USA or Canada...having to deal with so much responsibility, do you think that many presidents resort to prescription pharmaceuticals or illicit substances?

What pharmaceuticals would you imagine finding in a typical US president's medicine cabinet? I mean aside from the antibiotics and nailclippers...i'm talking psychotropic. Do you think many presidents use benzodiazepines, stimulants, or opioids etc etc?

I imagine being president is in itself a very good high...but then again, it also sucks in many ways and I imagine they use some stuff here and there at least.

There must be some president out there who is infamous for using drugs in office...anyone?
 
I'm gonna go ahead and guess there is at least some GO (Modafinal) and NO-GO (Rohypnol/Restoril?)

Jk, i'm sure there's some benzos or some kind of sleeping pill, maybe some caffeine pills as well.
 
It wasn't illegal at the time, but when FDR spoke to the nation following the bombing of Pearl Harbor a physician gave him cocaine to help with his sinuses. I think he took it for another reason too, but I can't remember.

Years before when cocaine was still used in some drinks, Vin Mariani was used by at least one president and he credited the drink with helping him to finish writing his memoirs.


It would probably be kept secret if a president was prescribed something like Xanax or painkillers or anything. It made that news that Obama smokes cigarettes on occasion. Maybe he's quit by now IDK.

That was Ulysses S Grant. He wrote his memoir while dying from throat cancer. I have also read that JFK was quite often loaded on opiates from a back injury he suffered.
 
I'm sure pretty much an prescription medication he might request. The go-to's, I'd imagine, Adderall, some kind of short-acting benzo (like Xanax) and probably an opioid pain-killer like codeine or vicodin. All legitimately used, I don't think the president would get away with abusing his meds for very long without it becoming obvious or leaked. It's not uncommon for world leaders to have a personal doctor that just hooks them up with whatever they think they need, all without the leader not actually asking for anything in particular. Not saying this kind of sorcery would still exist today, especially in the US, but who's to say? Especially with the RC scene today, who' to say the pres doesn't have his own team of chemists?
 
I'm gonna go against the grain here and say mainly cigars and booze. Maybe a little xanax to sleep if he can't.

I'd be willing to bet he strays from booze aside from occasional wine. I'm sure he stores a few cigars as though, likely Cuban. It's unlikely we will ever know much about the president's prescriptions (unless it illegally leaks) because that's classified information even for a base level citizen. His meds may even come from a special pharmaceutical supplier. I doubt the president is popping pills from the same vulnerable source you and I do, it would leave too much opportunity for both intentional and unintentional compromise. Unless there's someone who tests his meds for him, just like I'd assume someone tests his coffee before he sips it. Then again, I have no idea. Regarding this country and government, no guess about anything is too wild.

If I were the president I'd definitely have some scotch and Cubans in my medicine cabinet

Also imagine all the booze at functions with diplomatic meetings and dinners

He is too busy to get smashed regularly, any painkiller or stimulant would have to be in very very small doses, at a certain point what's the use. A cup of coffee and a cancer stick go a long way in the morning
 
At first I was tempted to speculate that he has access to a drug/nootropic such as the fictional NZT-48 portrayed in the movie 'Limitless'.

Then I realized that if that was the case he is having some paradoxical reactions based on his ineptitude as President.

Inb4 this thread evolves into a political debate.
 
my guess stimulants and benzos... maybe opiates for pain or whatnot... Michelle??? I am too scared to speculate.... Imagine her all jacked up on 120 mg of Adderall... Barack??? WE NEED TO TALK!! I don't know a woman that takes uppers that aren't ragers on them... hours and hours of hell.
 
Come on guys… Obama is black, he obviously has a ball of pure crack cocaine in his cabinet. Probably a bottle of sizzurp as well. And a pack of new ports.
 
JFK was an IV meth user. He was tweaked during his famous debate with Nixon, actually, during that debate in which Nixon sweated a whole bunch.
 
I figure Bush had Jimson weed to run the country, atropine to keep his heart going, PCP for dealing with Congress and Propafil for sleep. And a compound for making love, probably got it from Clinton.

Some sort of focus drug for sure. Probably Modafinil or Adderall.
Benzo(s).
Lots of cigars and booze.
Possibly some MJ.
