So I see lots of people on here talking about ''harm reduction''. I never knew that psychedelics caused harm, but perhaps I have been misinformed; so can someone please tell me the inevitable harm that I am doing to myself by taking psychedelic drugs -- and why you believe that reducing that harm is the best that could be achieved?

I feel pretty bad now since I have actually given some of my friends psychedelic drugs, without realizing that I was hurting them. :!

I believe that this is the stated-purpose of this entire website -- so hopefully there will be some good answers to this question.

There is no 'inevitable' harm from psychedelic drugs. We're here to make sure you're taking drugs and chemicals responsibly and safely-- dosing correctly, combinations, etc. Sometimes people want to do stupid things with drugs, but if they ask here first, we can tell them that what they're planning is, indeed stupid.

As long as you use psychedelics cautiously (and you don't have any preexisting conditions that would be detrimental), you shouldn't be harming yourself or others.

I believe you have been seriously misinformed, or else you don't pay much attention to what you read. All drugs have the potential to cause harm, and people have died taking psychedelic drugs. Harm reduction is about enjoying drugs, psychedelics included, in a way that minimizes the risks involved. You're implying those risks don't exist. Tell that to the families of those who died taking mislabeled bromodragonfly. Plenty of accidents have happened with the nbome series as well. I honestly can't believe you're taking issue with bluelight's stand on harm reduction - it's the most admirable quality this community has and it has likely saved many lives, and saved many more people from having a seriously bad time.

EDIT: I guess what you're trying to say is that the term 'harm reduction' implies that there must be some harm, but that it can be mitigated. But what it really means is 'risk of harm reduction' - I think that's generally understood. To argue that we should all use the term 'risk of harm reduction' so as not to imply that "drugs are bad, m'kay" would be pretty pedantic, no? I mean, this is clearly a community of drug takers, why on earth would we take a moral stand against drugs?

Sorry for the long post but this honestly has me a little riled up.

tl;dr? What are you, twelve? I do take harm reduction very seriously, as should you.

Not all words are pulling the same strings, my friend -- don't read everything at face value.

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

I've been down this road. You feel that the knowledge and insights you gained through psychedelics can only be a burden in life.

It's obviously not true for everyone. Just shows that tripping is not everybody's cup of tea.

God damn it, people like this guy piss me the fck off. tl;dr? are you fucking serious? how can you say that shit on a forum like this, and mostly with the question that you just asked? da fuck man. Psychedelics aren't for some people, you could be some of them as you don't take harm reduction seriously. There is plenty of threads about the set&setting (basic knowledge you should know) and how your mental health is at risk if u use em way too much (HPPD). You should evaluate yourself before doing any kind of psychedelic.

As a recommendation i give u, stay with the classic ones (LSD,shrooms, mescaline and DMT) since i don't like risking with new ones like nbomes, etc.

PD: I was pissed of because u told tl;dr to a post that basically, told you important shit.

Man -- you people really know how to derail a thread. This was a very sensible discussion that throws light onto the reasons why so many of you spend such a large proportion of your lives writing messages onto this piece of the internet. I am a homosexual, yes -- what of it Mr. Laughing Buddha? :o:o (kiss kiss)
