Here's the link.

I'm intrigued.

How would one go about making drinkable cannabis ? Any ideas ?

The article makes sense I believe. Not that I'm giving up vaping.

I love it, it sounds like a wonderful idea. I thought it was very interesting how you can heat up juiced cannabis and it can be as potent as 100 joints lol.

The most effective way to drink cannabis is heating(on low) with with whole milk with a little heavy cream added and stirring/whisking vigorously for a while. Then you can strain/filter the milk to take out the actual plant material because the actives will have dissolved into the lipids in the milk, and you need heat to convert the thc. If you want to drink cannabis without using fats you need to grind super dried cannabis to powder, or shred/blend fresh cannabis really well, and drink it with the plant matter, because water does a poor job of taking out the thc and other actives, maybe blending it with just ice and a little water and then letting that solution melt and then filtering with like a cotton shirt, and then heating the water up after filtering, would work since it would physically knock the trichomes off the weed, but I've never done it.

EDIT: I posted before I read the link, the above information is for getting high from drinking cannabis, it sounds like juicing cannabis without heat, or eating raw cannabis thats never been heated, allows you to intake much more cannabis without getting too stoned, which means more health benefits and more effective doses of the non psychoactive/recreational compounds. Or, as the link says, heat the marijuana high enough to remove the thc so you can basically consume as much as you want without getting high.

Salutations,

The key-word here would be "decarboxylation": "Juicing" implies it's NOT "activated". I wish they'd put CBDs in all products found at my local grocery store, actually! Consumption as raw food doesn't serve the same objectives as vaporization or even smoking.

=D

I've used fresh undried weed in bhang before but it was steeped in boiling water and pounded into hot milk which I guess would have changed (decarboxylated?) the thc-a to thc. It was plenty strong enough.
I often strain bhang and use it in a cup of tea instead of milk. Its probably not going to be the same in terms of health benefits as juicing raw weed though.
I find the raw stuff very peppery in flavour.

Hi again JustSayKnow,

I've used fresh undried weed in bhang before but it was steeped in boiling water and pounded into hot milk which I guess would have changed (decarboxylated?) the thc-a to thc. It was plenty strong enough.

If it's true one must allow moisture to escape (for decarboxylation to occur), and 106 °C (223 °F) is the lower limit while staying below 119 °C (246 °F) preserves best, than i gather that drying in an oven set to 112.5 °C (235 °F) would be desirable. Time will influence the THC to CBD ratio so that would be a crucial variable - and "variable" it is if i can judge by some readings...

I find the raw stuff very peppery in flavour.

I'm curious, are you after THC or CBD?

Just eating it raw had little effect
Processing the raw cannabis with heat = the product had an effect
I wasnt after anything in particular. It was actually a mistake.

These days i use dried weed. That first batch was strong though. I was expecting mild results but several people were incapacitated after ingesting high doses

I love drinking cannabis. I have had everything from smoothies to straight juicing of the leaves. I'm a big fan of juicing fresh marijuana.

If I may ask, what "technique" did you use to make juice from the leaves ?

edit: to other posters: I was not looking for a way to get high from the cannabinoids, I know plenty of ways for that ;).
From what I understand from the article, a lot of the good stuff (minerals, vitamins) in weed get destroyed by the heat we need for decarboxylation.
So I'm looking for a way to ingest the good stuff in the leaves etc.
