It seems like a lot of us junkies don't have cars, which makes it difficult to cop, especially if you need to get to someplace a good distance away.

How do you guys deal with it? How long as it been since you had one?

Do you take the train now? A cab?

Find other junkies to take you? If so, is there a set amount of payment you need to give them? Do you pay them in cash, bags, gas, etc?

Just tell us how you deal with out a car or conversely, if you are the one with a car, what do you charge people to do the dirty work?

I take the train out there or have one of my friends drive me. Alot of people call me to go out there for them all the time because there scared of the hood and don't wanna get beaten up. They usually give me a few bags for my time so I don't mind. I don't live to far so if worst comes to worst I'll just walk my ass out their if I have a couple of hours to kill.

well where i live, you call your man and he drive the shit to your place. not all dealers have cars tho of course but still better than coping on the street imo also the streets are full of sec-cams they monitor almost everywhere

ahhhh
having a car to a drug user is like owning a mansion
you can eat in there, sleep in there, get high in there, bump uglies in there, etc.

When i didnt have a car it was bus (which on occasion it still is), subway, walk, find friends to drive.

^^ no dealer has car in states and bring the shit to your place? you always cope on streets?

^agreed having a car was like being a millionaire in junkie world haha.

I lost my car last year when the government seized my baby. I have not had license for the past 2 years, and wont be getting it back until 2014. I live in Tampa where the public transportation system is not the greatest. I take the bus everywhere, pay about 45 USD for a month's bus pass. Yeah it takes about 3-4x longer than if I had a car, but really I am just greatful to be able to get around. You can also get a bike and bring it on the bus with you and that makes you pretty damn mobile.

The good thing about not having a car is gas prices dont matter, no car payments, no insurance, dont have to worry about road rage, traffic, or accidents. You dont have to drive all your bum friends around, you get to be one of the bum friends now. Plus if you are an active user, you can move around with less likely hood of being stopped and searched. I mean how many people have left the bar by bus/train and a cop stops the bus saying, ok I think I smell reefer, I'm going to have to search all you guys! haha

it really depends if you want to look at the glass half empty or half full

They have cars, but in general, you still have to go to their area and they meet you.

Some guys in the suburbs will come to your house, but in general you are going to pay more than if you went straight to the street corner source.

Nice thread kc. For me, once my parents found out I was a junkie, and I kept fucking up and couldn't get and stay clean, they quickly took away my car. See my parents bought my car for me as a high school graduation present, so the car was never in my name. I never made payments on it or ever paid for insurance out of my own cash, so it was still basically my parents car which I was driving. Once the car got taken away, I would just take the bus or the train or some combo of the two to go cop. I can get to one spot in about a half hour on the bus. If not the bus or the train, sometimes I would have friends drive me. I did have a dealer who would deliver to my house, which was nice even though the dope was kinda shitty sometimes, but he got busted. But yeah, I remember the times I did have my car, I was like the happiest person ever. It's so much easier to just wake up in the morning sick and just have to hop in your car and haul ass to the spot rather than have to wake up sick and drag yourself the half mile to the bus stop and wait for the next bus and ride the slow ass bus while sweating and puking and shitting.

I had a car that was all mine. It was a brand new Nissan that I bought on my own with no cosigner at age 20. I paid for it and my insurance on my own.

My parents still tried to take it away from me on occasion as I was living in their house.

Eventually though, I couldn't afford the car payment AND the dope habit, and when I was in jail last September, it got repoed :( Saddest day of my life.

I had a good friend who would go cop and drop off the stuff at my house...I would throw him a few bags every so often, but for the most part he just gave them to me for free because I had supported his habit for awhile and when we used to cop together I always used to give him half of what I got.

We had a falling out and I met a girl in rehab who had a guy who delivered, so he would bring the drugs to the rehab. But she kept telling me he didn't want her to give me his number, so when rehab ended, so did that hook up.

I got a girl who will take me sometimes, but it's kinda inconvenient cause she actually has to go like a half-hour in the opposite direction, only to turn around and go back the same way to cop. I give her at least 3 bags since she is driving obscene distances to help me out.

Other than that, I also have a user friend who gets raw. He will buy for me when he goes an picks up and I will usually give him another $10 or so. He will come to my house or work to drop it off.

Yeah back in the day I was balling out of control. Had a '07 BMW 650i Convertible Black exterior/tan leather. It was my baby, I took care of it like it was my child, cleaned it better than I did my apartment. The bad part was my car was most likely the reason I got caught, as not many 19 year olds are driving 100,000 dollar cars lol.

haha kc I know what you mean, my parents tried to take MY car away from me when I was living on my own. They said that it was somehow their responsibility to ensure my safety as I was always fucked up and they thought a fast car+teenager+massive amounts of Heroin/cocaine was a bad thing...sheesh, what do parents know anyways? lol

once I lost my ride though, it was still very easy to get dope. If you have money or a place of your own you can jsut invite people over to chill and let them use at your place in exchange for hooking you up with a bag or two. Or if you throw someone an extra bag or two most people willingly will go pick up anything you want and delivery it to your doorstep

I've got a car and it sucks having a bunch of junkie friends always nagging me to drive them places when I myself am a junkie and hate driving period. If we're both picking up shit I'll drive and wont charge em anything, if he needs a ride somewhere else I'm asking for gas money first.

well, not a junkie, but ive found my board or my bike to be better transportation than a car. I can get most places just fine, may take a bit longer, but i dont have to worry about gas, insurance, tickets, getting pulled over and being searched....

In the long run, means more money for more drugs :)

Back when I lived in a small college town I could ride my bike or walk everywhere. Now I have to find friends who'll give me a ride to the spot. Finding rides actually works out a little bit in my favor, because I tend to use by myself a lot, and I don't wanna ask for a ride from someone who doesn't use/want to use what I'm going to pick up, so I usually end up asking if someone wants to use w/me and then they can pick me up and go cop. So not only do I not have to give the ride any money/dope, I get a using partner so I'm not alone when I'm high.

well i havent had a car for a while and when i lived in jersey and i had to go 20 minutes to newark and i sure as hell wasnt taking a bus and walking i would usually just throw my boy a couple of bags to drive me. But now that i moved to school in providence they have a really good bus system here and i can ride it for free with my school ID. And after dealing with newark for so long theyre is really no hood that i am scared to walk through around here. I also have a lot of guys who will deliver. But my usual day in the life is wake up call my boy make sure he is around either walk or take the bus downtown and than i have to take another bus to the south. The nice thing tho is that my dealer lives right across from my second campus at school so i can take the bus that is run by the school down there at anytime. I call him again walk down my favorite street, meet him than quickly run down to my campus to shoot up in the nice facilities! I guess having a car would be nice but i really dont care not to mention your not gettin pulled over in the bus! And i feel a lot safer walking and meeting instead of sittin in a idling car, At the moment i dont have a phone tho now thats tough!

when i didnt have car the only 2 people i would do it with would call me up see if i wanted to go to the spot then chill with them (was nice)

now i got my own car which makes the temptation harder cause i can be there and out in a minute. Got plenty of people trying to get rides and if im going that way its all good. If you want me to be a taxi yeah.... also sucks cause i know the police have cars to record license plates and # of times you visited areas but meh.

Also its nice to have somewhere to run to when the police come up in the trap. Sucks to be sitting in your car all white at the spot. That's why there's apartments to conviently run up into. always have a plan or story

oh and ive seen plenty of people take cabs to cop always makes me laugh

Well until recently I lived in the city so I could get shit delivered or spend 5 minutes on public transport/walking to score. Otherwise I'll catch public transport, or more rarely a taxi. If I'm feeling lazy (and I'm rich) I'll give the dealers some extra $$ to deliver now. Most of the time though I don't mind riding the train out to score, because the journey is half the fun - especially riding the train back high :)

I have always had a car, well not always, since 16.

I never minded driving to cop and never cared to give someone else a ride. Getting dope was always an exciting time for me, never irritating. I was just happy to be out with money for dope.

Probably wouldn't have had such a heavy habit if I didn't have a car since I don't live in the city, but 25 miles North of downtown so it would have been a big pain in the ass to go cop where I did . All my connects were stable folks with whom I did business from beginning to end. I'd call them when leaving the house and then again at the spot. There was ALWAYS one that was working at the time I wanted to cop. I always drove out to meet them but once when my area got flooded (I live near Des Plaines RIVER) and I needed dope most of them were willing to drive out to me and did. But I'd get like insane amounts of $300-$1000 at once so I didn't have to drive out too often. For that kinda money anyone would have driven their ass to my house, but I don't like to wait for someone, I prefer to go and meet them and have my stuff in my hand ASAP.

All my connects were in good neighborhoods, I've never been to the ghetto. Scared shitless.

kc how far away from me do u live? (clues in above text)

My car needs an expensive repair, so it's just sitting in the driveway. A ride is almost always immediately available, since people who want something usually do the right thing when I say 'Yeah you just have to give me a ride to pick it up.', for which case there's no additional stuff they get. Or if it's something else just throw them some of my shit. Same deal for $10 runs or $1000 runs, $10 worth of stuff will get somebody to drive, because that's the thing about being addicted, it's either drive a little and be fine for the next 6-8 hours, or just be sick... people always drive.

Have not had car since July. Would get rides from friends and toss them a bag or walk to go cop. Real pain in ass. Finally got car back other day. Good to be driving again.

I don't know how I would get drugs without a car...

The only time I haven't had one since I started using was when I lived in NYC, and my coke dealer used to take the subway to meet me at the Starbucks a couple blocks away. It was good coke too, I miss those days.

I guess I would ask a friend, but if they were a user I'd worry about them mooching off my shit, so take the train/subway/bus then, I'd feel weird getting a cab.
