Has anything come out about the whole rhodium/hive site closure? Was it a sting operation? Have they relocated and I am just missing it? Using archive sites to dredge up rhodium has been only marginally successful. Thanks.

I dont know the exact reason for the closure but I think the moral of the story is: one of the lowest priorities in life is clandestine chemistry. Navigate the dopers.org website for some preserved articles.

A little bee told SWIM the Hive had a new server, its actually come, and they are just waiting to be able to pay for hosting/setting it up.

The Hive will bee back soon I hope=D

The sooner the better, SWIM almost had withdrawal symptoms when the Hive went offline:(

And what does all that have to do with Advanced Drug Discussion?

If what I've heard is correct from some old hive members, the Hive's hosting service (or maybe it was the .ws domain name?) had a change in administration, and the people who ran the hive and rhodium are being forced to find an alternative place to have they're site. It may not really be top priority for the hive admin people to get the site back online ASAP.

Rhodium was hosted by Erowid (different domain, same physical server along with hyperrreal.org--check your DNS if you don't believe me : ) until December of last year when they decided that the manufacture of illegal drugs isn't really within the scope of the site and therefore not worth the risk. It beats me why they started hosting the archive again this month.

My site (www.dopers.org) doesn't really have many archived hive threads... Its mostly a collection of links to informative scientific sites, sites advocating for civil liberties, and sites educating visitors on logic and thought. Thanks for thinking of it though!

Do NOT donate money to any Hive collections, because Rhodium had explicitly stated that MONEY is not the cause of the problem, and that nobody representing the hive will be asking for donations until the site is back online. Anybody asking for donations on behalf of the hive is pulling a SCAM.

Also, the administrator of Synthetikal is operating the site on a for-profit basis, which is widely believed to be a recipe for disaster in the field of drug-chemistry. See:

Also, add to the above list of sites: www.opiophile.org, its a damn fine site, and its webmaster Jacky seems like a nice guy!

Hah, yeah go to that site for the most advanced discussion regarding smoking banana peels and how cool the Anarchist's Cookbook is...

A bit of an outdated thread, but I thought this was probably worth
replying to. Rhodium was never hosted by Erowid nor was it ever
on the Hyperreal server. We recently put up a historical archive of
the Rhodium site because so many people were asking about it.
If and when Rhodium returns to the web, we'll take down our
archived version and redirect everyone back to their live server.

Wow, the guy who runs that site sounds like a real dick-head. He runs his site like it's a serious business and he has to get a certain amount of units out, dosen't sound at all like he's running a drug chemistry site. Awful.

^ I noticed it. I just didn't think it was warranted. I don't use the site much myself, but if we are to remove the link based on your reason for disapproving, then for similar reasons, we may as well not list any of the others either.

Of course we could step back to a time when "green little bluelighters" weren't even allowed to mention places such as the -hive. I for one don't think this should be the case. In fact I fought long and hard to have the ridiculous elitist Hive ban removed. Stupid fuckin' rule IMO. I know where it was supposed to have stemmed from, but when I talked to moderators at the -hive regarding this, no-one was even aware a Bluelight referral ban existed.

I just think that when we are discussing where the bees have gone and refer to a site in this manner, it does not in anyway say that Bluelight condones everything that site does. Blowmonkey, perhaps you might like to be a bit more specific with your claims. You can even PM if you prefer. While I agree there are some parts of the site which leave a bit to be desired, drugforums did attract many of the old hive posters, and early on after the hive closed, some official statements were issued from there.

On another note, I also think the comments regarding synthetikal were a bit unnecessary. So what if the guy is in it for money? I've paid nothing, and using Firefox, get no popups, so what's all the fuss? Synthetikal hosts most of the hive posts and rhodium files I've needed to access. So unless someone round here comes up with a better place, or just happens to have personally archived these valuable sites and has them hosted for all and sunder, then appreciate that someone else has.
