I got into Type O Negative when they released "Slow, Deep, and Hard", but I still love what they evolved into... Apart from the last two albums released by them; in my opinion both albums had only one good song. I know that Peter Steele had to deal with a mental illness (I can relate) and living/partying hard, but even so it's hard to see him go at only 48 years old. I hope that he has found peace.

Even though it was a month ago that he passed, it's insane to think that it's been three years since he's been gone. Absolutely one of the most intelligent and creative artists of our time. Both his self deprecating humor and his ability to convey such pain through his music on certain tracks are just legendary. They'll never be another man like him. Type O Negative and Carnivore are the best.

In terms of drugs and songs about addiction, White Slavery off of World Coming Down is the audio representation of the depression that hard drug addiction can bring about. I'd recommend everyone listening to it at least once.
