the guitar players megathread

Just cause a strat is mim doesn't mean it's not a good guitar. It's not like epiphone.. Eewww! I never took any lessons but they taught us theory in high school music plus I did ib which is a step above advanced. *sigh I had a scholarship to play jazz at st. Francis Xavier uni here in Canada but I chose med school instead. 8 years of school left! mcats ftw!

^^that was great. its the way he swings the bottle around to hit the notes.

I love Andy McKee so much that I learned a lot of his songs. Too bad I'm still shit at theory...
Yeah, he is really good. I just discovered him. His left hand chord tapping sounds fucking great. What is up with his guitar with the slanted frets though? I've never seen anything like that.

Well, if you can actually play like him, theory shouldn't seem so hard then! It's really not so hard to learn. I wish some people I play with would learn a little bit instead of saying "you know...this chord and that chord etc."

nice delay :) i use similar delay tricks a lot. i try to extend it past a dotted eighth though.

http://escapegoat.bandcamp.com/track/itaot-grey-magic-take-ii <- the first part of that one has the delay set so that the delay falls 7/16beats after the eighth notes i'm playing.. transition into a 1/2 delay later on
http://escapegoat.bandcamp.com/track/pulse-working-title <- 5/16
http://escapegoat.bandcamp.com/track/traversing <- two delays layered, one doing 3/16 (dotted eighth just like in your video), the other doing 5/16
http://escapegoat.bandcamp.com/track/celestially-introverted <- two delays, one 5/16, one 1/2... i turn off the 5/16 delay after a couple minutes ,then later in the song transition the 1/2 delay to 7/16

http://escapegoat.bandcamp.com/album/alterego-demos <- instrumental demos
http://escapegoat.bandcamp.com/album/alterego-demos <- vocal demos

^^ all demos have some pretty neat delay guitar work. its my gimmick. most of the tracks on there are just a basic dotted eighth or a quarter note delay.

all demos are a single (believe it or not) guitar track with delay , except a few of the vocal demos have two tracks, and the first track of the vocal demos has like 6 guitar tracks

i don't care how long it takes i'm going to have the best delay ever. (its a pun get it? XD)
