I've been reading up a lot on recipes for making the green dragon. Every recipe I've seen says to use Bacardi 151. I was wondering if anyone has used anything weaker like 46% booze? If so did it work okay? I don't feel like spending $70.00 (canadian prices) on a 26 of rum it's a waste of money I don't even like 151.. If I have to use strong ass booze then I'm using Absinthe. Seems much more appropriate and the flavour of fennel is much more tolerable then molasses. For those who don't know the green dragon is Alcohol infused with weed. Apparently it's the most efficient way to get stoned less then a tsp to get baked! And the recipe only calls for an eighth!!!
 
151 is like rubbing alcohol. ive never heard of green dragon but tbh id prefer having a few beers and smoking a bowl. this is probly better suited for the cooking with cannabis thread but hey what the hell do i kno
 
I threw some buds in vodka once, left them for ages, then remembered so i had a few shots then ate the bud. Theres no real point, youll waste a whole bottle when you can simply just swallow buds while youre drinking if you dont want to smoke.
 
I have the answer you're looking for. I have made many a batch of potent green dragon and after getting tired of buying expensive 151 (which I hate the taste of) I discovered Watkins brand orange extract (or any other flavor of Watkins extracts). Although you can't buy off the shelf in Canada, you can legally order it online (Google will turn up a bunch of places to buy). It's super cheap - $4 for a 2 oz bottle which is all you need if you're using an 1/8th of bud. Best of all, it's like 96 percent alchohol - basically grain alchohol or everclear - so its more efficient than using 151. Just make sure to get the real alchohol kind and not the glycerin based, alchohol free kind that you can buy off the shelf in canada.

Icing on the cake is that it tastes fantastic when mixed with sprite!
