So who survived? I'm out driving with a friend at the moment, there is so much damage it's ridiculous. The amount of debris on my road alone is huge, the actual road is covered in leaves and branches to the extent the road isn't visible.

We were getting pelted with massive hailstones, torrential rains, awesome winds and some kickass lightning too.

Oh and I'm happy to report that despite the lack of traffic lights, the traffic is flowing wonderfully.

Discuss.

Took me 2 hours to get home. Got stuck on the freeway :( All my year's in Perth and have never seen anything like it. My car has dent's on the roof because of golf ball sized hail..

I was playing Thunder by The Prodigy when the thunder/lightning hit.. haha :)Had some amazing lighting show's too. Our street is still flooded and cop's have blocked off the main road near us because of street light's and traffic light's are out.

Mum lost all her wind chime's and we also lost our spa cover :( The wind was unbelievable - reminded me of the cyclones from when i lived in Darwin.

I feel sorry for the motorbike rider's..Saw at least half a dozen of them pull over under the protection of a bridge because they were getting pelted by the hail and wind..Let alone trying to ride in the rain was just suicidal..

I heard it's passed us but the weather people warned of more to come tonight :(

Well obviously I don't have much to add because I'm not from Perth, but it sounds very similar to storms we experience here in Sydney!

Did you get any photos? Is everyone safe?? Is this kind of weather typical at this time of year???

Neo, we don't expect this kind of weather for at least another couple of month's haha so it was defiantly a one off event. I don't even think we get storm's as bad as today during all of winter :P

Didn't get any picture's but check out PerthNow's Gallery

We don't really expect this weather at all to be honest lol, Perth's winters are usually pretty weak.

Whoa! Just heard Jacob's Ladder has just collapsed! Also silentangst, is your name Jon?

Landslide on the Jacob's Ladder hill, and my god the water on Wellington Street is deep. There's so much flooding.

Do you have insurance? My car's being written off as a result of the Melbourne hail storm a few weeks back. The inspector said that pretty much any car valued under $15k will be written off rather than repaired.

Yea i have 3rd party but Im pretty sure they wont cover it. I rang my dad (he's an insurance broker) and he tends to think that ill be shit out of luck :(

Wow.. there were some big chunks of hail, and shitloads of it in general, it piled up around my house like snow. Alot of the plants in the garden got absolutely shredded, like someone had fired a machine gun into them. Luckily my car didn't get damaged, though my sister showed me photos her friend sent her of her car thats windscreen had been smashed by the hail.

The dog wasn't too happy and some water started coming through the roof :\ Was awesome though :D

Yeah, I went onto the Bureau of Meteorology site a few hours earlier and it appeared an even bigger front is coming tonight, haven't noticed anything yet though.

It caused so much chaos in the city, it was crazy! Was really pretty tho when it was hailing and all the buildings below us looked like they were covered in snow. What wasnt so good was having to stand in the taxi queue for an hour and a half in the wind and rain cause the trains werent working :(
