i often looked at you and saw your misery

i thought you deserved better
i think you realised it too
when i did it, my heart turned to stone
i could see the stone fall from you
your face got filled with happiness
my eyes got filled with tears
i granted you your freedom
at the same time i knew i lost mine
we are both to blame for this action
i did it and you stood behind
we both knew the abuse had ended
you gained your freedom,
while i lost mine
