I had that happen to me the other night :! Completely melted the bottom of the bottle of the container and lost a lot of gbl and varnish on my side table. Should have known better.

Anyway, in australia we use bubble blower containers to keep gbl and it doesn't melt the plastic and can last a long time. (Will try and find out why as i'm not sure, it's just the way i've always seen it) Metal would be annoying i'd think because you couldn't tell how much was left.
 
^Use any bottle that says HDPE on the bottom, and it won't melt. Plastic milk bottles in the UK are made of the same stuff. I assume the ones there are, as well.

When it's delivered it just comes in a standard HDPE bottle so I just fill my little travel pack as and when required. They're pretty easy to find, I'm sure. I get them off my mother cos she uses them for rescue remedy :).
 
I want to live in europe! In australia GBL is highly illegal and if you are caught importing it, well it's max 25 years in prison.

(btw, hope it's okay me invading your territory here ;))
 
The rubber right click button on my laptop has a perfectly formed circular hole the size of a droplet from a pipette.

The stuff also served brilliantly to remove the logo from my computer mouse that I no longer wanted to have to look at.
