Abstract Six criteria described in the New Zealand Misuse of Drugs Act and used by the Expert Advisory Committee on Drugs (EACD) for determining the risk of a drug to public health were examined in relation to ethanol, using gamma-hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) as a comparator drug. GHB is an ideal candidate for use as a comparator because it is a sedative substance very similar to ethanol and has been previously investigated by the EACD using these six criteria. GHB was subsequently classified as a Class B1 drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act, that is, as a prohibited drug of high risk to public health. The dangerousness level of ethanol was found to be at least similar to that of GHB in this analysis. This highlights a major discrepancy in public policy.

Done and done.

Hi guys,

Lately I've noticed that I can really increase my GBL intake. That is, I can reload with 1ml every hour without falling over and maintain a fine level of awesomeness ;-)

I was just wondering about the health aspects of this thing. How many times I can do it daily? I'm pretty afraid of some sudden overdose reaction i.e. redosing and redosing and suddenly collapsing with the need of reanimation without prior signs of something going wrong ;-)

Addiction/withdrawal would be your biggest worry.

It also drains your body of some things you can get supplements of, but I forget what those are, i'm sure someone else will fill you in.

Not so much worried about the addiction as I'm doing it once a week. Maybe less.

Hi Adam :).

There are a couple of threads which touch on this here, here and here.

As Aros said, the main problem to keep an eye out for is with addiction. Physically, the general view appears to be that it is relatively benign. The levels of use you mention are pretty much the same as mine and I have experienced no difficulties. Of course these are just subjective accounts, taking any substance to excess is not a good idea, but GBL doesn't seem to be too hard on the body compared to some :).

GBL is extremely easy on the body, compared to alcohol and stimulants. Probably on a par with benzos, or even easier. Once a week is fine, even if it's a full day of use. Once you start sneaking up to a few times a week, or daily, then cut down. I found that daily use of under 4mls caused me little issue, but then it went out of control. Be careful!

B vitamins, just like alcohol

Does G go 'off'?.

I'm really not using it that much, and just wondered if an open bottle will go bad.

Does GBL drain B vits? I know it drains other things, but I didn't think B vits were one of them.

G doesn't go off.

well. here is the thing. many years ago i had G in a glass jar and after long long time (year) the smell definitely got bad. There was very little g left so I didn't want to risk it and threw it out.

I don't know was it the glass container or the purity but definitely there was something wrong with it.

Me and one of my friends (who has more experience with this than i do) have often noticed the smell of GBL changing as it is stored over time. It doesn't seem to affect the effects at all, but i wouldn't like to swear that some really nasty smelling funny looking old GBL was definitely safe to use.

Just reporting back what I found out while using this stuff. I tried 1.5ml when I bought it, and can't say I had any effects at all. Left it for a day and tried 2.5ml the following day, which gave me a few mild effects. Sort of like a drunk-but-in-control feeling.

Not worth the £55.75 if you ask me.

Each to their own, of course, but some people find it takes a few attempts to hit the sweet-spot. Something to do with enzymes, perhaps? Can't remember. 2.5ml sounds quite high to me, but it seems to vary quite a bit. It is a kind of drunk feeling I suppose, but I find it far more euphoric. I also don't turn into a drunken prick on G. Randy prick, maybe...

ufo, its only a waste if you decided to throw it all away after your 2 attempts

Your body needs to develop certain enzymes for GBL to come into a world of its own, apparently

Hmmm, I did a Google and couldn't find anywhere saying that it drains B vitamins - it was a very quick and lazy search though. But I'm sure I've read it somewhere!!! In any case it can't hurt too much to supplement with extra B, especially not for people prone to anxiety and depression!

edit: by the way, what other things does G drain you of?

The first few times i tried gbl, the only mistake i made was in redosing too many times and falling asleep. Fortunately i was in a completely safe environment to do this in and i redosed gradually so i was only just unconscious as opposed to completely overdosed.

It was fun at first but i quickly learnt to moderate my dosage as i find the experience more enjoyable when i am conscious to experience it...

I certainly didn't experience little or no effect at first and i find it interesting that other people have (especially taking larger quantities than nocked me out). It just reinforces my opinion that the effects of gbl differ considerably from individual to individual.

I would agree that of all the drugs i've ever tried, gbl is the most similar to alcohol 'drunkeness'. It has the same kind of confidence boosting effect (as opposed to something like marajuana) where you tend to over estimate your abilities rather than under, but it is more eurphoric and feels like a cleaner hit somehow. As if it targets certain parts of the brain more specifically. I prefer it, and the fact you don't have to drink vast quantites of something like beer can also be a bonus if you don't fancy the associated body load.

^ I agree with everything you just typed, MrM :).

Thanks shambles, nice to know i'm probably not just bull shiting here=D

GBL is also similar to alcohol in that it would be a really really bad idea to drive under the influence, and also similar in that some unlucky people seem to be much more prone to it's addictive effect than others (and it seems to be somewhat willpower independant), so be careful.

^ Once again, I agree with everything you've just typed, MrM :).

If I ever have a week off, you can post in this thread on my behalf :).

I feel like i am going on a bit because these gbl thread keep coming round, but since new people do keep asking these questions i hope it's worth the effort of responding, again.
