The Funniest/Worst Ecstasy "Myth" I've Heard

^ Haha, yes! I once heard someone going on about how they'll only do anything purple since they're "smack-based" and had the inspiration to give them a talk about E (which always makes me feel uncomfortably like an arrogant know-it-all, but anyway...)

They listened intently, then asked me where they could find "purple biohazards". Argh! :!

As for the OP's point, with the sad state of pills today, I'm not surprised that people believe things like that. Annoyed, but not surprised. :\

I'm not sure that Eminem is really that hip on the physiological after affects produced by mdma and what the long term affects of prolonged usage are.

And I think you are underestimating the intelligence of the general public. They are not a bright group of individuals and I'm sure that quite a few people have believed the crap he was singing about. Idiots or not, they can still talk, and they are still spreading misinformation which goes against "the cause" :)

LOL I used to get yelled at by people, "OMG A BLUE PILL! ARE YOU CRAZY!" lol

Although yellow makes me feel sick because it reminds me of vivarin, and the time I thought it would be fun to take 10 or so of them on a dare. I didn't feel too good after, and ever since yellow pills make my head go on overload and I get psychosomatic stomachaches, lol!

We basically have Oprah to thank for the "ice cream scoops" out of the brain myth.

The scan of the girls brain showed "holes" but people watching were stupid enough to actually think they were PHYSICAL holes in her brain... the scan was simply to show blood flow in the girls brain, and the empty spots in the scan showed where she had slightly lower blood flow, about 1-2% less than normal...

this girl had also heavily used meth, along with other drugs, and had signs of schizophrenia. glorious propaganda.
 
I don't mean to say this to encourage our great youth into thinking e is harmless but I abused mdma like no other. I rolled probably 40-50 times in a 2 year (25 months) period and about a week after the last time I rolled before I quit for the first time ( I roll once every couple of years after that) I was in a car accident and had a severe concussion. I messed up my back and my pupils weren't the same size (severe concussion symptom) and when I turned my head right or left more than 45deg I would just about faint. They did a Cat Scan and an MRI thinking I might have a bleeding brain or something else and they did the blood flow scan and I went over it with my doctor and told him I was a heavy user of MDMA and he said my brain showed no signs of restriction and looked perfectly healthy. Don't get me wrong I may not be a typical case but I have done just about everything but I've only abused mdma and I can tell you right now my brain chemistry is good. No manic depression nothing. This is not to say that a person w/ a history or genetic history in Emotional Depression or any other illness of the brain but in my personal opinion mdma doesn't do shit to you other than kill a few cells just like alchohol and tobacco, but I got billions and I figure let the strong survive, that's called evolution baby.
 
Another bull shit myth is anything the DEA said back in 85 when they scheduled MDMA, what a load of Bullshit. I watched the phil donahue show the other day(I am currently unemployed) on youtube and watched an old episode talking about e back when it was legal and all the DEA could say was nothing but lies and some truth, the only reason they got rid of e was because people were having way to much fun, then they pushed the world into banning it.

I find it interesting that you all laugh at this because in a sort of way its true.

Basically what she is saying is that ecstasy could be anything or a mixture of anything...................thats a true and accurate statement.
 
I don't disagree MazDan but not to the extent that is implied. If you want to be literal though we can go back to 85' with the first marketed product and naming of ecstasy and that was for MDMA.

true, but it is still inaccurate. I have to say, of all the weird things I've heard about pills, that is the only one I've been able to actually able to educate someone on and have them realize their mistake. Everything else, people just don't wanna hear that what they think is truth could be wrong.

some other silly ones I've heard:

Ephedrine is in every single pill.

Mescaline based pills.

Taste-testing is reliable.

What i found funny about it was that she obviously didnt even know of MDMA, and just assumed that ecstasy is a 'cocktail' of every other drug.

Since Ecstasy is not a brand name, it can be whatever anyone wants it to be. It's not like when mdma came out it was in bottles labeled "Ecstasy". There were all sorts of nicknames for it, E just stuck, but now I think the term has evolved.

It's almost a useless name now. When someone says they've taken E, my first thought is that they may or may not have taken mdma and if they did it was probably adulterated.

I find it all sad more than funny. I'm sure there's lots of drug subcultures out there, removed from Bluelight and other sources of info that are buying and selling pressed mult-drug cocktails that contain no mdma and eventually that is what the word E will mean to the public.

But MDMA is MDMA and perhaps to avoid confusion we should refer to it as that rather than "Ecstasy" whenever possible...

The term ecstasy was labeled by the original sellers of mdma when it was legal in the states. It has since of course evolved to include whatever dumass pressers want to put in the pills to still be called e when everyone knows that when you want ecstasy you want mdma. MDA is the only substitute in my mind. Everything else should be called something different in my mind.
 
But I mean that wasn't a trademarked brand name like Viagra.

Here's some more info to our point. The best selling book "Gomorrah" a non-fiction book about he crime syndicate in Naples has this passage:

"Pills--what some people still call ecstasy, but there are actually 179 varieties--are huge sellers in Secondigliano, where they're called X files or tokens or candies."

The term has been hi-jacked. Don't ask for Ecstasy, demand MDMA! :)
 
everyone in my town was convinced that ecstasy was just made up of random chemicals mixed together like bleach and baking soda. i wish everyone in the world would just spend a little time on erowid or watch "ecstasy rising" on youtube to get rid of these stupid myths
