has anyone seen this?
i was working today at best buy and i just happened to glance in the "special interest" section NOT for the softcore porn
there are other things in there! and i happened to see the words "the freshest kids" so i wondered what the hell that was about and picked it up to find out. then i see a breakdancer on the cover and the words "the history of b-boying" there was only one copy so i immediately took it and marked it with my name in the backroom.
i just finished watching it and its VERY entertaining, VERY informative, and VERY amazing. they interviewed some of the most reknowned b-boys and their crews. they talked all about herc and his house parties. they had lots of battle clips, they even got into the true meaning of the word b-boy, where it originated from. they talked all about the whole hip hop culture (ie. graf writing, breaking, and rapping). they got into the difference between the original technical styles to the more nu skool power move styles. they covered the whole east coast vs. west coast style, east coast being your more traditional breaking (at that time) with a jerky style and a more spuratic style and the west being more of a mixture of breaking and popping. they showed the riot at radiotron. this dvd has a LOT of interesting stuff.
the entire documentary is about 2 hours and really is quite worth watching if anyone gets a hold of it!
