I recently read a feature on the best free games at 1up.com (http://www.1up.com/do/feature?pager.offset=3&cId=3148013). Free games can actually be really good, particularly if you're looking for a 'casual' game or something a little retro.

At the moment, I'm playing Virtual Pinball which recreates arcade pinball machines into a virtual environment on the desktop. It's great!

Is anyone else into free games? If so, what is your favourite and do you have any recommendations?

They have a good amount of games for free, but if you sign up for membership theres several more fun games

Albatross 18 has to be my favorite game in the last couple of years . Its free to play but you can pay cash for certain in game items , but there really is no need too spend money if you don't want too. I dumped about 500 dollars into this game over the years . Its really great .

isketch - Online version of pictionary. You get a word and have to draw a picture so the other players can guess it.

You get the odd player that just draws willies every time his turn comes up, but other than that it's good clean fun

Anyone remember that classic little ski game microsoft had on their computers around 1991 - 1993 where you could do slalom or freestyle etc and no matter what you always got eaten by that faggot snowman at the end. I randomly thought about it today and decided to see if I could find it on google. Anyway found it the first shot, here it is for anyone who would like to play.

Anyone play it?

It's a free to download + play game based on the "motorbike" scene of Tron.. It's online too so you're playing real people.

It's a small download + free! So why not, right? ;)
