Germany approved it's first ever minimum wage of this year. http://www.bbc.com/news/business-28140594
They must have magically managed to be the strongest economy of Europe without it prior to this.
This is the part where you change your mind and call Germany a socialist nanny state. In the US, if my hours are cut, I'm just fucked. I have to go out to buy a pair of boots to pull on the straps for awhile.
And this is where I exit until you actually start engaging in what I say rather than ignore everything.
No you aren't, there's a bevy of social programs in the United States.
^I just found it interesting that long term unemployed are exempt from the minimum wage and some employer's get a 2 year grace period.
Which program pays me my lost wages if my hours are reduced? Direct me to that department, please. Can't pay rent with footstamps.
Yes, that's bizarre. A lot of shit is bizarre and ought to be something else. Minimum wages should be effective for everyone immediately once they're put into law.
I don't know I use a program called American Express or my banks "savings account".
There are however rent-assistance programs in the USA, there is Section 8, TANF (straight up cash every month), WIC (free baby formula and other stuff).
Nah, lol people out of work for a long time I think would rather take a lower wage and have money and start working then not have the jobs open up because the new minimum wage rise has constricted the labour market. With any product as the price of it goes up, demand generally goes down, as the price of labour goes up, naturally demand of it goes down. That's why Germany haa put in this provision.
such glamour
Right, but who reimburses my wages when my hours are cut?
I take it you've never applied for any of these programs.
You may need to explain this better.
This story was framed as "White Officer Shoots Unarmed Black Teen".
If you choose any other news story involving a minority shooting a white person you won't see the races mentioned by the mainstream media.
A headline like "Black Man Shoots Unarmed White Woman" would be far too inflammatory.
The "racist" point does hold merit, it's the trump card that leftists pull when presented with statistics, facts and reason.
