The empathogenic properties of LSD

Does anyone feel that LSD can sometimes produce emotional effects close to those experienced on MDMA (acceptance of others, sense of inner-peace, even the quasi-inappropriate feelings of intimacy)?

It usually happens immediately after I've past the peak and is heightened by appropriate music ("Wish you Were Here" for instance). Indeed, I often even feel an urge to take some actual MDMA to intensify the effects and definitively cross the border, so to speak...
It goes to the point of having somewhat disturbing sexual fantasies about my 50 years-old (female ) neighbour or similar stuff...

The difference with MDMA is that these feelings are more controllable and can even switched off by changing the setting. But it's like LSD "contain", among many others the basic benefits of MDMA (if only at a lower intensity)...

LSD was called a "love drug" in a similar way that MDMA was. Leary said it was the greatest aphrodisiac known to man too.

Yes I have found that LSD or other psychedelics have empathogenic properties. They seem to have many different effects depending on the set/setting.

This is one of the things i like about LSD. It can produce empathogenic effects that are equivalent to MDMA but without any of the associated neurotoxicity and crash.

I find that it does to some extent, but not near as much as MDMA. I have friends that would disagree though. At lower doses, it makes me feel closer to the people I'm tripping with but meeting new people is overwhelming. With MDMA, I could walk into a party of total strangers and socialize like I've known them my whole life. At higher doses, I get too enveloped by my own insanity to really open up to others.

As for the sexual side of it, neither LSD or MDMA make me that horny. LSD makes me want to connect with people on a philosophical level rather than on an intimate level. MDMA makes me want to hug and kiss and stuff, but that's always so satisfying that I feel no need for anything more. That's just me though.

Yeah I don't find the empathy of LSD to be anywhere near MDMA. But that's why there's MDMA

sex on acid can be overwhelmingly pleasurable though

With LSD I do get some empathy from people and I can read people's body language a lot more clearly, but I'm very good at reading body language/non-verbal language while sober, and the empathy I experienced while on LSD at varying doses from very intense/heavy to moderate/low is not like tripping on mushrooms.

I've never taken MDMA or MDA so I have no idea what those are like. My friends that have taken them told me how mushrooms are very like MDMA/MDA and you get lots of empathy on shrooms and MDMA/MDA but how with mushrooms you actually see visuals while on MDMA/MDA you don't at all.

You definitely get visuals on MDA (you can even get some OEVs at higher doses of MDMA, although it's not that common)

Anyway, the empathogenesis of shrooms and MDMA/MDA is very distinct... mdma is a more artificial, but overtly euphoric, in your face love for everything. shrooms' empathy is more... natural.
