slip into bed
to the left of you
instinctively you'd turn
to have and to hold
we fit like one
two pieces of a puzzle
no elbows, no knees
it was so fluid
so right
i didn't notice at the time
one of those things
you miss
only once it's lost
close my eyes
as hard as i can
trying to imagine
how it was
you wrapped around me
me on my side
alone in my bed
my arm gets in the way
which every way i turn
odd appendage
where did it lay
when you were with
how did you do it
so easily
so tenderly
the arm was always there
protruding unnaturally
awkward and imperfect
always in hesitation
yet i never noticed it
when you lay breathing
you found it a resting place
so that whilst i slept
i forgot about the arm
the arm that gets in the way
this is how you made
made love to me
each night
you took my arm
and gave it a resting place
somewhere deep in your heart

|buried treasure is right.
no matter what position you might be in, you somehow find a way to lay completely entwined and comfortable
One of the most relaxing feelings.
