Hey :)

So I started this post to get opinions on the effect anti-depressants (any) have on energy work, whether that be the ability to feel / sense energy up to and including the ability to control energy in healing, ritual work and other associated things.

I use the term 'anti-depressants' loosely as I am interested in the opinions and experiences on various types and want to keep this thread as open to as many different experiences as possible :)

Thank you ^.^

I'm not sure if this is suited for P&S. Perhaps try Basic Drug Discussion?

^I don't know, I do see a crossover.

Yeh, Lady Bun-Bun, I think quite a few of the drugs prescribed to us that supposedly 'keep us sane', can interfere with feeling/deciphering/responding to, energetic interactions. The conspiracy theorist in me tells me they do this on purpose - the rationalist in me says....well, actually my rationalist agrees with my conspiracy theorist!
But anyway, and more seriously, sometimes this can be a good thing. Some people are very sensitive, even without fully realising it, and can subconsciously strike out at forces that are maybe trying to help them. Sometimes the medication can help with (artificially) 'balancing' yourself for a bit, in order for you to work through the things that may have got your wires crossed in the first place (I'm not talking specifically to you btw, I have no idea how adept you are :) )

So yes, they can interfere, any intoxicant will alter your body's ability to really feel what's going on around you, but on the other hand, sometimes they can be beneficial :)

Thank you for your response, I would agree for the most part, but I am one that would have a more difficult time feeling 'disconnected'. My sense of energy is something very important to me and helps keep me safe from potentially bad situations. But I do see your point also...
