The EADD Weeb Thread (Anime/Manga etc.)

Have wondered this for a while now, anyone in eadd like anime? (japanese style animation)

Firstly I've loved anime since the Pokemon days and have since gone on to watch some amazing pieces of work (akira, paprika, summer wars, deathnote, samurai champloo etc)

I love the artistic styles of the animation in some shows, where you can see how much effort it takes to make one of these movies or shows, take akira for example, all hand drawn cel animation, 160,000 cels

I love manga as well, it's odd reading backwards tho

So my question is, anyone else like it or am I just showing my geeky-ness

Yeah. Some series that I like: Great Teacher Onizuka, Hikaru no Go, BECK, Naruto, Hunter x Hunter, Chobits, Death Note.

Chobits I loved too, the manga surpasses the anime I thought as it explains the story alot better but I still hear that annoying voice whenever I read the name 'chi' :D

I'm a hardcore Kaiju fan, for me nothing beats Mothra

Urotsukidōji just sounds like disgusting hentai shite, films like that are the reason I rarely talk about anime to people as they associate it with that shit, not for me

FMA is an amazing series, spin offs are alright IMO
DBZ used to be the anime I watched after Pokemon had gotten old, it was awesome!

I can see it on 'the bay' what's best English Dub or subtitles ?

I need some motivation to get back into films, I've been making a conscious effort with music and audio books but I've lost interest in the TV, junk mush I can live without but I used to enjoy a wide range of films.

The dub is meant to be excellent for it, I'll be able to say for sure tomorrow or so
I watch films all day, tarentino is prob my 1# director/writer

I can see it on 'the bay' what's best English Dub or subtitles ?

subtitles every time. the sound of the japanese is a big part of the atmosphere, for me, when watching anime.

I love anime, my favourite series have to be Ergo Proxy, Welcome to NHK, Ghost in the Shell, Bleach, Green Green, Neon Genesis.

As for mangas, try reading Akira, the story expands so much more than in the film, it's amazing

Love that film too, the fight scene in the water is my top part, I didn't follow the plot on the 2nd one though.
