i followed that one up very thoroughly, if its the same one, the vendor more or less admitted that allthough he was listing it he didnt actually have any, and what he did have was receiving very bad reviews on SOS.

like the first time you have a benzo high ? Or not in the same ball park ?

Oh no not the same. On heroin you feel completely cut off from the world and nothing can touch you. Just completely numb.

...at first, until it sucks everything out of you :|
(I don't mean to be such a downer but I really don't want to seem like I'm encouraging in the slightest)

Nah im not considering it <3 just curious thats all

Uppers are mainly my thing

Good good <3

comfortably numb ? I wonder if thats what pink floyds song was about. They werent into heroin AFAIK ?

Yeah, Comfortably Numb is kinda THE reference for heroin. I'm pretty sure it was meant to be about morphine or something...but even if it wasn't it does kinda describe what heroin's like.

O.K.
Just a little pin prick
There'll be no more aaaaaaaah!
But you may feel a little sick
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, good
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on it's time to go.

There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone
And I have become
Comfortably numb.

i think its about heroin. :\ Shit, how thick of me to take so long for that penny to drop. They kept things very quiet about heroin if they were actually into it. Maybe they were just writing a song about it, im sure they knew many people who were using.

Tbh i dont know much about pink floyd after syd left, apart from their music ofcourse, and the fallout between Gilmour and waters. I want to find out much more about them now. Theyve allways been an interesting band, i dont know why ive never read anything about their post syd years. Gonna have to change that sharpish.

In July 1978, amid a financial turmoil caused by negligent investments, Waters presented the group with two original ideas for their next album. The first was a 90-minute demo with the working title, Bricks in the Wall, and the other would later become Waters' first solo album, The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking. Although both Mason and Gilmour were initially cautious, they chose the former to be their next album.[146][nb 34] Bob Ezrin co-produced, and he wrote a forty-page script for the new album.[148] Ezrin based the story on the central figure of Pink—a gestalt character inspired by Waters' childhood experiences, the most notable of which was the death of his father in World War II. This first metaphorical brick led to more problems; Pink would become drug-addled and depressed by the music industry, eventually transforming into a megalomaniac, a development inspired partly by the decline of Syd Barrett. At the end of the album, the increasingly fascist audience would watch as Pink tore down the wall, once again becoming a regular and caring person.[149][nb 35]

I wonder how much of this is fiction and how much of it is kind of autobiograhy.

wtf is a gestalt character ? "something that is made of many parts and yet is somehow more than or different from the combination of its parts; broadly : the general quality or character of something" Thats a hard concept to grasp, i need a concrete example.

I didnt realise that Waters was the main genius and songwriter behind the group, i allways wrongly thought it was Gilmour. He looks more of a genius than waters, but looks can be deceiving eh.

I've just been fucked! Typing with one eye closed to make it possible.

High dose 3-MeO-PCP / GBL. It was not exactly bliss, though, I was at the options screen for the "game of life" and one of the menu options was "suicide". I didn't select that menu option but it was just a mouse click away.

Went through the wringer on some matters of personal morality, it was not fun, but it has brought to the surface some things which need to be worked through. A difficult but, I think, therapeutic process, or the start of one.

sounds like you just has a conversation with Albert Camus. And came to the same conclusions he did

look im up, he's one of my faves

Just been googling him, yes he sounds good! pretty sure my dad has one or two of his books, will steal them on my next visit! :)

so now its gone from being my song with my favourite guitar solo to a song about heroin. Fucks sake im not happy about that.

Does that necessarily make it a worse song though? The guitar solo is still out of this world and the whole song is still beautiful.
I think it just makes it more powerful.

no it doesnt make a worse song, it changes the meaning of it for me though. Ive just edited an earlier post with a bit of background info about The Wall album. I still need to find out more now.

Yeah, fair enough :)

Weeell...my plan to chill out on a bit of xanax has turned into a nice mix of xanax, codeine and 4-FA, which I hadn't had in about two months. i feel GOOD :D

kinda like a founder of existentialism, but differed to satre and kierkegard. keeps it to the basics, and deals with the absurdities of human existence and discusses the three fundamentals, and your basic choices/quandaries within those paramaters, and logics' to the only viable solutions, suicide being one of them

I'd send you my last book of his I had hanging around but I only just sent it off to someone else

[edit] both worth a punt
