The EADD Hip-Hop music thread

Yeah DOOM was expensive but I'm glad I saw his fat ass. He was on for quite a while, I was worried before as I'd read some shocking feedback on the Dublin gig. We're lucky though, apparently the cheeky bastard has a reputation for sending his mates out to do gigs for him stateside.

Dont know if there is any Joe Budden fans here but Mood Music 4 is out on the net now.

Is it just me or is Professor green really fucking shit? his voice makes me want to smash his face in. i hate these UK rappers all jumped up acting tough they just sound like chavvy scum instead of US gangster rappers who pull it off with some mafioso like style.
SAS are okay, have some good beats and clever rhymes but probably act too American. Americaz Nightmare pretty good this 'freestyle' is okay:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGHMhwOP-bo

To be fair, if you youtube some of Professer Greens rhyme battles, he was a really good improv MC.

His chart stuff is pretty wank though, yea.

yeah seems to happen with a lot of emcees, they do good battles and freestyles but can't convert it into a good song. Take Devlin for example, great freestyler but his songs are kind of shit.
Professor Green just has an annoying voice imo.

thinking of goin Jedi Mind Tricks in manchester the day after µ-Ziq but Ratatat are playing manchester the same day completely torn!!

If you haven't already seen JMT do it. Definately worth going to and they don't come around too often as far as I know.

Can anyone recommend any good 'political' hip-hop artists? Other than Lowkey and Immortal technique.

Sage Francis is raw and sometimes political. Some people find him a bit emo but he's undeniably a massive brainbox and has all the requisite skillz. I've got a recording somewhere of him demolishing another mc in battle by guessing all his rhymes and punchlines and drawling them a second before his opponent comes to them. It is impressive.

U-God seems to get a lot of flak for being the 'shittest member of the Wu' but I've just been listening to Golden Arms Redemption and it's pretty good. Not up there with the RZA's solo efforts (....a tough call as they're amazing) but good on first listen.

^ if you like that Concrete Mob tune you may like KMD which was DOOM's old group with his brother Sub Rocc before Sub Rocc died and DOOM became DOOM.

KMD sounding good, not so much my style though. That BoA tracks pretty nice :D

Don't see very much UK hiphop posted (Jehst, Task Force, Braintax etc FTW!)

Also this track is the best UKHH track I've heard.. all year. I doubt one head can say anything bad about this one (although Jehst etc easilyyy beats it ;))
