The EADD Hip-Hop music thread

oi RZA whats your fav wu verse ?
Mine is Cappadonna on Winter Warz

Brimz my man, thats easy - this verse right here off Shadow Boxing:

"I slayed mc's back in the rec room era
My style broke motherfuckin backs like ken patera
Most rap niggaz came loud but unheard
Once I pulled ut, round em off to the nearest third
Check these non visual niggaz, with tapes and a portrait
Flood the seminar, tryin to orbit this corporate
Indsutry, but what them niggaz can't see
Must break through like the wu, unexpectedly
Protect ya neck, my sword still remain imperial
Before I blast the mic, rza scratch off the serial
We reign all year round from june to june
While niggaz bite immediately if not soon
Set the lynchin, and form the execution date
As this two thousand beyond slang suffocate
Amplify sample through vacumn tubes compressions
Cause rza, to charge niggaz twenty g's a session
"

And that exit line especially is fucking killer.

Rza i'm listening to Iron man atm .
G Rap will always be the best imo
with verses like this

Kool G Rap ]
Aiyo, due to light and the thunder
You was under the seventh wonder, son your life's a blunder
Doomed, there soon will be nowhere to run to
But out of limits, this whole planet could be finished, diminished
Lose all of his tennants, takin all life that would dent it
Major destruction, tearin down every man construction
Volcanic eruption, lava leadin to human reduction
Life's grimmer for every livin mortal sinner
Chances are gettin slimmer when air in the atmosphere is gettin thinner
The five elements will expire
( ? ) earth, first water then when it will flame it will fire
Your hopes get higher, eyes witness the bright Messiah
Thought he'd fly you to God's empire but delivered you to hell's fire
Earthquakes and shakes, overflooded lakes, the dams breaks
To suffocate whatever's on the landscape
People hurtin, gettin bitten by Satan's serpents
Steadin insertin lies in they third eye to make em servants
Physical's over, you see more pain and reignin over
Souls that's clean and sober shine like supernovas off Jehova
Mountains crumble causin mankind to stumble
God and devil go at it, get prepared for the fuckin rumble

Yea, G Rap is on another level.

And as for Iron Man - not heard it in far too long. Daytona 500 ftw.

Best MC in england at the minute, in my opinion anyway. His lyricism is so deep its insane I love that track you posted.

This is one of my favourite baxter tracks hellathon

Love that track they sampled for the beat, been in quite a few films.

I really like whichever one it was with all the SID-ish chiptune type arpeggios on. I think it's a fairly weak sound on its own but sounds fucking awesome coupled with really heavy overcompressed bass like on that one track... which now I can't seem to find in my history. :X

The chiptune shit sounded amazing first time round (ie on old C64 / Amiga pirate intros) but a lot of subsequent appropriations of the sound make me feel sick. Maybe it's just nostalgia but welding that type of noise to grainier things which sound like they've been underwater for 20 years really does it for me.

eg this.... not hip hop, but it's the example which springs to mind now I can't find the one I was going on about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owoWaCuPNok

HEEEEEEERE we go, it's called 'Please'. > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5IK6gzs_aQ&feature=relmfu

I didn't feel him at 1st but must admit i've been turned round n like him now.

It's important to give something more than one listen cos sometimes it might just be that your not in the mood for that particular style at that time.
I used to bouy stuff off to quickly n then go back in a couple of years n think Shit why wasn't i feelin that .

Totally! I really didn't like Quasimoto - 'The Unseen' first time I heard it, wrote it off as a sloppy novelty record and told the bloke who gave me it that it was OK but not my thing (and actually I was being polite). Now it's in my top ten HH albums, maybe top ten all genres.

I'm still waiting to have that revelation with 'The Further Adventures...' that one might never come. It's got its moments but it's a bit thin really.

Yeah definitely, I have done that loads. It is strange how something can sound so different depending on mood.

Yeah sometimes no matter how many spins you give something the magic never comes.

BTW what do you think of Kool Keiths new stuff well last couple of years , as much as he is a legend i'm not sold on it .

May have something to do with the FACT that KK has done some of the best ever Hip Hopwith Ultramagnetic , n some of his other monikers .
I kinda felt like "man don't ruin it all " but their was still some killer Punchlines.

Which albums you thinking of? I just looked him up on discogs and it looks like my 'latest' is actually 'Matthew', thought it sounded newer than 2000! He seems to have done a lot of collabs and mixtapes since then which isn't really a good sign I don't think.
